You shouldn't need many parts to go that way. Trans, flexplate, torque converter, shifter. You can change the pedals if you want but you don't have to.
By the way, a manual trans is much more efficient than an automatic. Especially an automatic with no lock-up converter or overdrive... like the 413.

Sitting in city traffic an automatic is more efficient on your knee and clutch disc wear. If thats one of your efficiency measures ?
We have lockup 413's and with the right gearing combo its not terrible on the highway.

On top of what contrapion22 said. You'll need a trans mount, flexplate to flywheel bolts, TC bolts (4), a trans cooler, and the pigtail from the neutral safety switch for the reverse lights (2 outside pins)
If you're looking for fuel efficiency- you're going in the wrong direction, the overdrive 5th gear and a no slip clutch is better. It'll get you lower hyway speeds and that means better fuel economy.
I just did this swap in late August, it's not bad, but not something I did for efficiency.
still looking to do this swap ?
i have everything you need.

My 89 Shadow ES turbo jumped like 6 MPG (hwy) going from auto to 94 a523. 700 RPM drop @ 70 MPH. Lot more fun to drive too.

automatic is definitely good if you do a lot of around town or sit in traffic. a 3.02FD with lockup should get you 32mpg if you keep to 60-65mph. you could also go 2.78 or even 2.60 if you do a lot of highway and not worried about losing some grunt off the line. i was thinking of going with a built auto with 2.60 and lockup on my 2.5T2 K wagon project before deciding to convert to a 5spd so i could have the best of both worlds.
