Changing fuel pump in a Spirit

Anybody know if you can change the pump in a Spirit without dropping the tank? I'm sure mine is starting to go as I have to whack it once in a while to get the car started. Must be a low spot on the pump.

Yes, you must drop it but only a couple inch's. I generally just undo the straps and let it hang, change the pump/sender and bolt it back up. If its full of gas, put a clean container under the pump as you'll lose most of it.

If the tank is full, use the pump while it is working to pump the tank out to some gas cans.

If it is the same as Daytona and Shadow, easily do able without dropping the tank.

Change the injector hoses too if you have not.

Thanks for the help, yes I needed to drop the tank a couple of inches to be able to get the unit completely out of the tank. I had it jacked up enough that the gas was at the front and didn't leak any out (it was around 1/2 full)
Good to go until the snow flies and then parked in the garage for the winter.
