    The Charger goes 10.28 @ 138.94mph

I've had a couple requests to post this in the results forum, apparently not everyone looks at the project log area for results. lol

So, Sunday Oct 2 ended up being a beautiful day as everything finally came together and the Charger went 10.45 on it's second pass. Followed by 10.36, 10.43, 10.36, 10.30 and finishing the day with a 10.28 @ 138.94 mph on, get this, a 1.56 60'!!!!

You can read all about it in my project log, just click the link

Another BS posting, or the real deal?

I'm going to guess the real deal!

That's dang good.... but if you weren't so choked up on that ported stocker, you'd have 9's in the bag!

    Re: The Charger goes 10.28 @ 138.94mph

Staging brake is in the car, but I haven't made use of it yet. Although, on the Sat. with the crazy headwind (so crazy they would only run 1/8th mile) It Did come in handy to hold me at the lights. (was actually getting blown out of staging)

Don't know if I'll keep it in or not, but at this point axels are Not the problem I thought they would be and the car has shown that it can hook harder than anything I would have imagined!

My goals for this year, wether spoken or silent were 1.5X----60' (this was my hope in buying Brians crossmember and DJ's a-arms)
4.5X---330' (I knew I would Have to achieve this to have Any chance of running 9's under 150mph)
6.8x----1/8th (Again, I needed to get out of the 7's and this was my goal for this this year)
    10.36 @ 141mph

I believed the car could go 10.2X's IF I could have removed the whole 200lbs and possibly with lighter tire/rim rear combo. When I had to cut things short to make SDAC (removed 110lbs) I was thinking a low 10.4x should be possible, but I really wanted to go inside of 10.38 to become Manitobas fastest/quickest 4 cyl Period!

The car has exceeded all expectation! I went 1.56 and 1.59 60'--------goal reached
    4.47 to the 330'----------goal shattered!
    6.74 to the 1/8th---------goal shattered!
10.28 @ 138.94mph------goal shattered in two ways! I couldn't believe how quick the Charger went and on such Low MPH! This alone gives me great hope that I could go 9's on 142-143mph! (my goal was 145mph and I thought I might be dreaming at that!)

Of ALL the myths this Car/build has de-bunked, the ported stocker being "the cork" in the system has been my personal Favorite! Even after proof after proof after PROOF, Some ppl Still don't get it!

Well, that Was part of the plan along with a Big valve head with more extensive porting And possibly a larger cam. After what the car showed me, I'm thinking it will go into the 9's by simply removing the remaining 100lbs and running light weight rear tires/rims (-40lbs recip mass)+ Maybe a few more lbs boost.....we'll see.

I would like to see JUST the header installed and see what happens, slip wise and dyno wise. If you change other stuff, then we and you'll never know how good/bad it is,

    Re: The Charger goes 10.28 @ 138.94mph

Here's my 10.28 time slip And my 10.30. I thought the 10.28 was my best all round pass, but it actually wasn't. The 10.30 (while 60' and 330' were worse) was my cleanest shifting. I grannied the 3-4 Bad on the 10.28 and trhe car let out a huge Backfire. Now that I look at those two slips I can clearly see that blown shift cost me AT least .06! + a couple MPH in the 1.8th!

    Re: The Charger goes 10.28 @ 138.94mph

So I'm thinking that 10.28 should have been a 10.22 or faster + I'm pretty sure there's still about a tenth I'm Not getting out of the car (driving) So I'm thinking it was 10 teens capable that day with no other change.

Engine pics. Couple things have changed but I don't think anything in the pic is different. I'll see if I can get some pics of the car how it all is right now.

Don't you worry, I put a header on and that's EXACTLT what I will do. Just swap the header, list any fuel differences to get AFR's the same and measure the difference on the preasure tap + dyno + drag times difference + any sppol time difference

Agreed, but we already know the stock piece, ported right isn't That bad! How could it be? The car is making at least 40-50 more WHP with just a cam swap and I'm not even back to the 38psi I was running on the stocker

+ (don't cha just Love those +'s!) From 35 to 37 psi it looks like I picked up 2 Full MPH!

    Re: The Charger goes 10.28 @ 138.94mph

I think your luck with axles would be partly due to getting a lot of seat time. I do not have the smooth engagement on slicks down which is why I want the staging brake. People with much weaker axles are going faster then us when they staging brake and carbon carbon clutch. Same goes for saving their transmissions.

I think your right about seat time and I think that the hiem joints are making a difference. I was glad to have the staging brake to hold me at the line against the wind. I think I'm going to try to slowly start using it just "because". Biggest reason I didn't is there's just too much suff going on and I was happy getting rid of one thing (launching by rpm manualy) with the two step before I take something else on.

Just curious, what is going on with the large hoses off the valve cover and the second air cleaner?
