    Intermediate shaft repair sleeve

I know its the same seal as the camshaft but is there enough depth and clearance to use the repair sleeve for the camshaft on the intermediate shaft ?

Sure, just trim it down. I had to sleeve some TIII camshafts, but the sleeve overhung so I took my die grinder with a disk and carefully trimmed it down.

Good to know but tearing further into it I found the source of the leak was not a seal as the leakage pattern would have suggested. Now its the front galley plug

Agreed, all my engines get a threaded plug installed.

    Re: Intermediate shaft repair sleeve

Tap was $15, two plugs were $6.

Another headgasket + bolts, timing belt and whatever else you f'ed away $175

The cost of removing your engine for the 2nd time, ripping out what hair remains and going for the 5 month record of overhauling an engine.... Priceless

For all of lifes mistakes there is MasterCard to fix them

(and to celebrate the fail this whole thing has become: got myself a new ratched handle)

Ppfffft, I blew the engine on my Daytona on April 1st. I just finally set the new one in the engine bay 24 hours ago.
