Well it finally made some noise, but not without issues, it leaked like a sieve, mostly from the drivers side cam bearing, so I had to shut it down, isn't anything easy?

update, wiring done, went to back it out of the garage and only had 1st & 2nd gears, I thought this was going to be a problem, I had the trans on the bench and it would lock up while going thru the gears, pulled the top plate off and fiddled with the alignment until it was working again, now its locked up in the car, fuuuuddddgggge.....

Its a 568. Unfortunately I have no idea where to start looking, by hand it would go thru the gears a few times then lock up, before I put the trans in it would shift fine, but now it only has 1st & 2nd, can't get the shifter to push over.

can you shift through the gears with the cables disconnected from the trans?

    Re: fishcleaner's GLH-T build

I seem to vaguely recall something about loosening up the linkage and installing an alignment pin before tightening things up... but that's as far as I can recall right now. I believe the pin was installed on the shifter to hold it in place while the selectors were put in their place, again, not recalling what "place" that was, but I want to say "neutral".... Unless I'm completely confusing this with something else!

You are partially correct. You take out a pin and flip it over on the trans to lock it in neutral, then you loosen your shifter cable adjustments, then you install a spacer and bolt (that comes taped to your shifter) to lock the shifter in neutral, then you tighten your shifter cables. 523/568 cables though, are non-adjustable AFAIK?

Can you shift the gears at the trans end?

yea, the pin is used to hold the neutral position so the shifter cables can be adjusted, I did that, when the engine/trans went in, I adjusted the cables, it worked thru the gears, put the pin back in the neutral position until it was time to drive the car, I pulled the pin and lost the other gears.

Just wanted to show the shifter cables (5/16" Morse cables) and that the center console barely fits with the new set-up

Nice build man. Like the header, intake, and shifter setup. Let me know how you like those gauges, I had the white-face versions of that tach and speedo in my Shadow, the tach was a little sluggish on the response, but overall I liked them a lot.

Those are VDO Vision guages, I put LED bulbs in them and they look great, never had an issue with them and even the fuel guage is as accurate as stock

Since mine had white faces instead of black, I put red LEDs in mine, they looked awesome. Great set of gauges.
