What type of wiring connectors are you using? What type of crimpers are those?

^ Just off the shelf crimpers, the big one is the ratchet style. The connectors are a hodgepodge, important connections get a weatherpack seal and the rest I re-use the factory style with new terminals. Those heat shrink butt connectors are the bomb.

I'm running an Electromotive stand alone system so the stock harness doesn't do much other than the lights.

Are you able to run the instrument cluster and the lights without using the stock harness? How to do? I'd like to clean my engine bay up a little and get rid of the harness all together.

You'd still need to power the fuse block under the dash. You can eliminate a lot of wires if you pull everything apart and redo stuff. Running the headlights and fog lights across the front of the car and moving the solenoids (if you're using any) to the driver's side of the car will eliminate everything which runs to the pass side if you're not running the LM any longer. Relaying the lights etc. under the hood is a nice upgrade and eliminates even more of the wiring to an extent.

Just look at the diagrams and you'll see what needs to run though the 40 way connector still. It's not all that much.

I made my own dash using VDO gauges but I tapped into the dash plug for the check engine, fuel, turn signals, etc. The wiring I'm not using filled a square foot box.

Well it took me a week but I have the body harness sorted out. The four fuses on an angle are the fusible links, man I was glad to get rid of them, the rest are lights and the new system. There is also a 50 amp fuse for the alternator.

You're having flashbacks? I re-wired this car 8 years ago when I owned it before.

If everything falls into place, I'm shooting for drag week, I would be fun to see a bunch of FWD's to kick some butt.

Well I didn't get it fired, still have some more hook-ups to do, then make sure nothing leaks, got my fingers crossed.
