Weight difference between tall block and common block 2.5 motors?

Yesterday I picked up old Matchbox from Brad Pennington after he and Nate I-have-a-Mopar-Curse swapped a 58,000 mile 91 2.5 CB in place of the old 278,000 mile third set of wrist-pin-slapping repairs tall block 2.5. It is amazingling smooth and QUIET. I could even hear a vacuum leak AND the speedometer cable making noise! The old motor ran out of breath at 4750 while this one ran very easily to 5000 rpm today....even with the air filter on (which would kill the old notors revs at 4500!

Any how...what are the wt differences between the two? How much wt was lost on the tall 2.5 when the balance shafts were removed? We left them in the cb.

Tomorrows test and tune will be very interesting!

So which one was 14 lbs heavier, the tall block? If that is the case then my car weighs about the same as it did before since the CB still has the BS left in there.

I have to assume the tall deck is heavier since it's basically a tall common block, structurally...
