Hi all--
I replaced the driver's side engine mount today on my 92 Daytona IROC R/T. It was a bit of a hassle as this car is equipped with ABS and the plumbing gets in the way. I couldn't get the thing out via the top or bottom, even after pulling the bolt from the front mount and dropping the engine and trans as far as it would go. I also removed the trans cover to give me a little bit more room around the frame in the hope that would let me squeeze it by. I then removed the battery tray and that gave me enough clearance to pull out the mount from the top. I didn't see this mentioned before when I searched (although I might have missed it), so I figured I'd let folks know about this. If you've a car with ABS, try removing the battery tray-- it may save you a few hours of frustration.
BTW, my daughter came into the garage during this time and asked when the Daytona would be done.
Me: "It's a Turbo III, honey-- they're never done."
Her: "Oh. Can I give you some advice, Daddy?"
Me: "Yes?"
Her: "Don't tell Mommy that."
