Just picked up a 14.5" tall core NPR cooler from another member on here and am looking for some install tips. I scoured the IC show off thread and didnt see more than a couple. Any help/pics would be appreciated!

Does it look like this?

i think mines taller, 14.5" tall at the core. Other than that, yes it looks the same.
I'm pretty sure I have the 14.5" tall unit as well. The core is 2" thick and the I/O is 2.75".

yeah, did you have to cut anything? I had mine about where yours is ans there barely room for the radiator.
Are you still using the stock radiator? That's what I used and it seemed to fit perfectly between the I/O of the NPR. The NPR sat pretty much where the A/C condensor was, under the upper radiator support, although I did relocate the stock radiator approximately 3" towards passenger side and about an 1" closer to the the motor. I had a local heating A/C company make a custom fan metal fan shroud and used a Derale 14" 'Tornado' electric fan so it would fit. I also had to modify the alternator case (90-amp ND) by cutting off flush one of the ground terminals as it was poking into the NPR end tank. Didn't cut anything on the car at all.
Now that I'm remembering more from this setup (the car's been down since '06)....I did have to cut the lower mounting 'feet' off the NPR in order to fit it where the A/C condenser used to be. It barely fit that way...honestly if I ever run this setup again I may just bring the NPR to the welders and have the bottom row or two cut off and a sealed it back up to gain clearance.
im already using the denso alt and slims rad fan, I think i might have the IC shortened if it doesnt cost to much.
Yeah, I would recommend shortening it maybe even just the bottom core tube. Probably save a lot of frustration. You want it to sit up against the front vertical support as far forward as possible to allow room for radiator.
yeah id like to not have to move the radiator toward teh engine ifi can get away with it. Im going to talk to the welder monday, he makes intercoolers already .
Ok i got it position where i like it i think, had to lop off the upper grounding ear on the alternator like i was told. All i needed was about 1/8" to get it in there, so i took the BFH and dented in the core support where the end tanks would sit. I also smoothed the welds on the IC end tanks where they meet the core. Sits right in there and still gives me room to get the oil filter off, altho i an going to have to run a smaller alternator belt since it hits the IC when the alt is all the way down and the belt is tensioned correctly.

Hey, that fits pretty good. I should have no problem fitting mine in their since mine is supposed to be the slightly smaller one.
