Pretty neat, they look like Raceland coilovers. I was pondering buying a set, they cost about $250 for the fronts, no dampening control though.
I make my own coil over kits at a cost of under $40 for both sides. It's really easy to do yourself and if your good at networking you can find the parts for next to nothing too. all you need is a local stock car track then get to know some latemodel teams.
I figured that site would hate it, but wow, no one hated it.
I'll have to chat with my VW guy and see what he says.

wow a flush fitment on a kcar with wheels that i think are 15x8 with zero offset, without fender flares, but with that goofy tire stretching practice. gives me ideas minus the tire stretching. i like it overall.
I really like it. So does my fiancee.
I got my aries about that low but i didnt have the spring rate to keep it from banging the pans into the ground over dips, and i never cut the bumpstops in the back and it was on them all the time and i spun it at speed several times. I also dragged a lot of debris down the highway, and once got stopped DEAD in my tracks by a 3" tall lamppost base that i thought i could go over.. needless to say i was wrong.
Definitely a safe and a not safe way to do it, but i'd like to try it again.
One thing that would make that a lot more functional would be the ball joint extensions that have been talked about here several times.
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
I like the red wheels on it.

I read he's using Mk1 caddy vw coilovers? What's a mk1 caddy vw? I'm thinking golf/rabbit/gti, but where does the caddy come in?
Funny, I was searching for coilovers and came across those Raceland CO's.
I noticed the VW Golf, Jetta,Mk1's looked like they might work for a GLHT.
They were like $319 for a full set.

I was going to ask if anybody tried vw stuff. A buddy i work with justt up graded his jetta and would sell me his old coil over kit. Front and rear. If it has minimal fab i would do it but my skills are not the greatest
VW stuff has been used on l-bodies for years, and l-body and k-body front struts are almost identical if you take out the spring perch and upper strut mount differences.
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
The kbody strut mounts are still a pain when adapting. The holes in the towers are so small that you need a flush top mount for them to work without cutting it. Otherwise you have to use either a camber plate or adapt the strut to use the k-body strut mount.
The 2G neon (with spindle or spindle spacer) is actually a closer fit but then you have to drill two holes and enlarge the center hole.
If you plan it out you can reuse one of the holes but it still isn't a bolt on deal like it is on the lbody.
Here is a mockup for a plate that I considered making but nobody wanted:
Here is a post where someone did it but didn't reuse the bottom front stock hole. It does show how the center would need to be enlarged.

I guess my dodge spirit thread is not as popular but i think that the spirit install is a little more presentable, although i'll be the first to say i would happily take a sawzall and make a nasty hole without a second thought if the urge struck me...

I reused one stock hole, but a different one.
I have put 1g neon, 2g neon, SRT-4, and PT cruiser struts into k-cars, both by adapting the strut to use the k-car upper mount, and by drilling the strut tower. Of the two, i prefer drilling the strut tower.

i like the car....clean classic early K wagon. but the rear is a bit too low (a rake would look better than leveled). that stupid @$$ over exaggerated slant to the rear wheels is just plain rediculous (is the owner on drugs?). i feel sorry the car has to waddle around like that!
Well, look like Raceland coilovers.

Well, lets see. Instead of doing some body and wheel tub work, we will put a butt load of neg camber in it and just replace the tires every 2 months. Still cheaper than body work!!! Genius!!

A man has got to know his limitations.....
The early K cars use different top plates that actually look like L body units to me. I didn't know the early Ks could have flip out vent windows in the back doors. I will have to keep an eye open for some of those at the yard. The car looked pretty cool until he screwed up the rear wheels.
