    OTC 4000 Enhanced Chrysler abs question

    Do any of you guys know if there is a way to access the ABS codes on my 90 Imperial with my 4000 enchanced, or do I need a DRB II? Usually I'm able to fumble my way through the menus, but this one has me stumped. I ordered a Chrysler service manual but I don't have it yet so i'm not even sure if the codes are accessed with a scan tool but I don't know why they wouldn't be.

    I think you have to access the ABS module directly. My spirit has a plug hanging off the ABS module with a rubber boot over it, I am guessing its a DLC for the ABS.

    with a monitor 4000 I had to use the ABS cartridge

    THis is a mid year 90 with the Bendix 10 system. The ABS computer is in the engine bay under the battery holder I think. 22mopar, thanks for the top, I will check out Ebay for an ABS cartridge.

    are you going thru the blue connector under the dash?

    Yes, I am using the blue connector. As I understand it that is where you access it on these cars, but I could be wrong. Is the ABS not on the same data bus as the rest of the computers?

    If you're using the connector unde rthe dash that's kinda L shaped and has a blue lock on it, that one acccesses the body controller, airbag controller and abs controller. They are on a separate data line due to their increased speed in communicating.

    The one I'm using is the blue 6 pin right under the steering column. It's more of a rectangular shape than L shaped though. I think the one I'm on must be the one for the engine, transmission and ATC because those are the ones that I can access through it.

    you can't access engine thru the blue connector on any chrysler except 94-95 LH cars.

    My mistake. it's more rectangular with a small tit hanging off it for connector alignment. I'm sure you have the correct connector, but the wrong cartrige

    22mopar, did you use the otc ABS '98 software with your enhanced 4000?

    I had a 1993 ABS cartridge. It was a long time ago and I've since upgraded to a much better scanner (Solus)

    The ABS diagnostic connection is definitly done through the blue six pin connector next to the steering column. I looked up the wiring connections in the Chrysler service manual for a 91 Imperial since the 90 manual I have only shows the early Bosch system and it clearly shows the wiring colors white with orange, and purple going to the blue connector under the dash. I confirmed those wires are present in my blue six pin connector. Now I'm starting to think I have a bad ABS computer since it never lights the red brake light and I've had the pressure pump unhooked all week. According to the FSM the red Brake light should have light a long time ago.
