    Neon SOHC spark plug tube

I should have a job soon to reseat the spark plug tubes in a 00 2.0L SOHC neon. Is there a certain type of sealer to use in the bottom part?

Also this looks like a really straight forward job, is there anything else thats unseen behind it?

I have used anerobic sealer and a block of wood and hammer to install them. This isn't the first one to have come loose. Take your time and make sure the bottom of the tube area is clean of oil.

What do you mean its not the first one to have come loose? I hear its pretty common.

1,2,4 on this particular engine are seeping oil into the tube. It runs like poo

The loose tube thing isn't quite common, but not uncommon. The oil leak tends to be from the seals that are installed in the valve cover. Is the tube loose in the head?

I usually just pound them back in with a hammer and 2x4. It takes some serious swinging to get those things back in, never had one leak from the inside. Any oil leak is probably caused by the tube gasket on the valve cover.
