October 13, 2012 was the last day the Charger went out to the track and unfortunately suffered a catastrophic engine failure. The #1 piston shattered and the rod continued to vent the block a couple times..... I could not have asked more out of this factory sealed long block. At the moment I am building a DCR spec 2.4l rotating assembly and had some repairs and updates done to the chassis. Check it out
It was originally a 6 point , now upgraded to a 10 point. Hopefully with the new engine and turbo upgrades we may have to use this but is removable until needed
Sorry to hear about your failure, but glad to see your are getting it back up and running.
Any idea what caused the piston failure?

Damn, sorry to hear that. Are you having the new block sonic'd? Really curious how the cyl walls (thickness) compare to our 2.2's.

Im not a tuner guy unfortunatly.... I think it had to do with the extra cold weather we had that day and I was unable to get a datalog of the first pass to know where the tune was at. On a lighter note I did improve my 60' time from high 1.7 to a 1.62.
