    Question hydralic fluid

I was at the races last night and I have a question .A guy there mentioned that he had been told by Big time racers to use HF mixed in with his regular trans fluid he tried it and he says his trans shifted better and performed like never before. I have been around the block a time or two and I have never heard this Is this true

Tractor hydraulic fluid, as in TDH or John Deere Hygard..

Neverevereverever think of putting it in an A604.. but it works in an A413.

What I do, is drain the trans, put in a quart of ATF and quart of Lucas transmission fix for color and conditioners, then top off with $7 a gallon jug "TDH" from Walmart.

    Re: hydralic fluid

I picked up some TDH fluid so I'll give it a try. Is this considered low or hi viscosity?

$15 for 5L at Canadian Tire, Walmart only had 20L pails.

The Walmart TDH seems to be between the summer and winter Hyguard ... as far as I can figure. Seemed better than ATF at -20C anyway.

Ok, Warren suggested the higher viscosity reduced converter slippage,

If you mean the clutch, it locks up with a "tunk" and holds good.... don't have mine on a switch, so can only say it never seems to drop or drag uphill heavy loaded as long as you're above lockup point or don't get so far into the throttle it kicks down.

Not the LU, but the stall, he said it seems to reduce slippage by 2-300 rpm, which is what I need.

Can't say anything definite about that, but from the feel of more pull, less slush lower down, and improved city gas mileage, I would presume it does something like that.
