    Alternator issues!

Hey guys, looking for some ideas here. The alternator on my '89 TII motor has some issues. It appears to be out of alignment. When I put my belt on the inside grooves of my alt pully (towards the alt housing) it works fine but squeaks REALLY bad. I mean really bad. If I then take the belt and put in on the outside grooves it doesn't squeak but I found out it will cause the belt to jump and shred itself. So apparently I need to move my alternator to the drivers side about a quarter inch. Anybody had issues like this before?

    Thanks!
    Zach.

Check alternator bushings, check loose nuts, check the alternator adjuster for tear.

Bushings are a common item and the adjuster's rubber can also tear. Get ahold of Polybushings.com and Rbryant on here as he makes the adjuster in a solid flavour.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm going to order the poly bushings after work today. I'll try to track down Rbryant as well since my adjuster is pretty bad. Hopefully this'll straighten out my alt and fix that darn sqeak! lol
