Darrell Cox Racing has arranged with Cliff from Import Faceoff (IFO) an all Dodge FWD Drag Race with their own classes; COX FWD Heads Up and COX FWD Bracket at the IFO event on Sunday, Aug. 28th in Columbus, OH.
COX FWD Heads Up Class is Open to All street type FWD cars.
CLASS SUMMARY
Heads-Up, Pro-tree (.400) class for FWD only import/sport compact oem frame vehicles. Wheelie bars, one piece front ends, and straight axles prohibited for FI cars, OK for NA. Three qualifying passes permitted.
BODY
Import or domestic compact car bodies allowed. Lexan windows prohibited. One piece front ends prohibited for forced induction applications, but allowed for naturally aspirated. Tail lights and head lights required (one may be removed for induction purposes)
INTERIOR
Doors must open and close from inside and outside the vehicle. No center drive configurations. Dash must remain for forced induction applications.
CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION
Full tube chassis prohibited. Back-half chassis and tubes are not allowed. No center-drive systems. Wheelie bars and straight axles prohibited for forced induction applications, but allowed for naturally aspirated.
ENGINE
Only OEM 4 or 6 cylinder motor entries allowed. No air-cooled or rotary engines allowed. Motor swaps allowed as long as they stay within the same manufacturer.
POWER ADDERS
Turbochargers (limit 72.9 mm), Superchargers, and Nitrous Oxide Systems permitted in any combination.
DRIVETRAIN AND TRANSMISSION
FWD only.
EXHAUST
Any type of exhaust system permitted.
TIRES
Slicks (26.0 limit) or DOT approved tires allowed.
COX FWD Bracket Class is Open to All street type FWD cars. All mods/stock welcome. Run what you brung!
Entry Fee is $50 for either class with 100% Pay Out Going Back to Racers! Amount of Pay Out is determined by the number of cars entered!
For example, 16 cars in Cox FWD Heads Up Class= $800 pay out between the winner and runner up. 70% going to the winner and 30% to the runner up. Winner= $560 with Runner Up=$240.
Our option as of right now is to increase the entry fee to $100 for a higher pay out, this is completely up to you. We'll let the racers decide. Your input is welcome! We need to get going on this because we have 2 weeks to give an answer to IFO.

DATE AND TIMES:
8/28/11 from 12pm to 7pm. Car show registration from 11am to 1pm, judging begins at 1, awards ceremony at 6:30. Race registration starts at 11am, heads up qualifying at 1:00, 2:00, & 3:00. Eliminations at 4:30, 5:30, & 6:30.
EVENT ACTIVITIES:
Car/truck/bike show, 1/4 mile drag racing, Usaci double points stereo crank it up contest, burnout contest (time permitting), raffles and giveaways, models, vendors, and DJs.
SHOW PRICES: All spectator tickets and competitor registration forms can be bought on the day of the show at the front gate. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
For event status info when the weather looks questionable, call the IFO phone line at 225-247-RACE (7223) or visit this link: WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENTS (check for updates the Saturday and Sunday morning before an event). If an event has to be canceled after gates have already opened, your arm band can be used for entry into any future IFO. Once gates have opened, there are no refunds. This is standard policy for all outdoor events (motorsports or baseball) not just IFO. Do not come to an IFO event if you do not agree with this policy. If gates never open, complete refunds will be issued within 48 hours to all who purchased on-line tickets in advance.
