2011 Monster Mopar Weekend - Indy! Sept 23-25

Well, after Gateway closed up the Monster Mopar event was in jeopardy... now it looks to be coming back from the ashes... at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indy!

Gateway was nice. I don't think I'll miss the 10 hour ride though

Too bad they have a 9.0-16.0 dial in for their "Street" class....I'd love to kick 9 second rear with Matchbox! I have contacted them to suggest they get a larger car count if they open the class up to a 19.99 limit as do nearly all NHRA tracks. If they come back and say they want the program to take less time then I will let them know that the 9 second cars make the last two turn offs while I make the first one AND I beat them to the et shack by a mile...any of you guys know any of the guys putting on the show?

I might actually be able to go this year... That's only an hour and a half away from my parents house, and it's not on a drill weekend like it was last year.

Monster was a fun time last year at Gateway... it's been too long since I've raced at IRP (SDAC-8?) ... should be good rubber down after the US Nationals... I'm planning to go!

I see that they have added a $8000 purse Box/No Box event...I can enter the Matchbox for a mere $40 more!

I'm trying to get a Sport Compact class at 2011 Monster Mopar Weekend - Indy Sept 23-25.

I talked with the Promoter/Owner, Josh King at the Mopar Nats and he said if we could get enough interest, he will make whatever class we want! UNLIKE Mopar Nats, he does NOT need a class sponsor, but instead will make the payouts from the entry fees of those entering to race in this class!

I know this is short notice, but let's see what we can get going...
