Wiring a Mallory Unilite Dist directly to the Coil??

Hello TM, Im wondering if you can wire a Mallory Unilite Distributor directly to the coil, a msd blaster 2 in this case. The reason for doing this is to bypass the msd 6al box which is fried. Can it be done? Also, any way to keep a msd boost timing master without the msd 6al box? Thank you

yes but you absolutely need a balast resistor.

what model BTM do you have. Not sure if you can direct coil fire with the BTM inline.

the 8762 you cant use alone without the use of an msd box and Im pretty sure thats what you have since the other one wont work with a 6al box since it already has a msd6 built in.

here is what you will have to do, plus you will have to retard the base timing and equivalent of what the BTM takes out at full boost. Yeah it will kill your low end but in boost it will still feel the same.
