considering, but curious how this will affect my performance (if at all).

I always see a reference to 2 peice and 1 peice...what's the difference? I'm guessing i have the worse of the 2...but how could i tell (without taking it off)?

Performance? It doesnt affect at all.

Its just more of a hassle to put on. If you take your valve cover off a lot a 2 piece is a pita.

To tell, what year is yours?

if u see any cork gasket, or RTV around the main flat o nthe valve cover, you got the older 2 piece style..

    Re: Shelby Valve Cover

    Ferrari,

Mike and Juggy are exactly correct. This doesn't affect performance at all. This valve cover requires a two piece gasket (one for the left and right sides) and then RTV typically is placed along the front and back to seal it. Shelby valve covers that became available in 89 had a one piece gasket that went around all the sides of the valve cover. IMHO, it doesn't make a big difference one way or the other, for if you take your time a 2 piece style gasket will seal just as nice as a one piece gasket. To me, both types say Shelby and both types seal the head. lol...

oh ok...thanks...i have a 1 piece currently then (not shelby though). Luckily i've only removed it once, so it might not matter moving to a two piece.

i'm gonna think about it, and i'll get in touch with you in a few days (if its still here).

Thanks for the info guys...i just kept seeing the 1 piece/2 piece posted and wasn't sure what it meant.

    Cordes

Let me reattach them and maybe they'll be larger this time. They're large on my computer but shrink when I put them on here.

Yeah If youve taken it off before, you'd definitely know if you had a 2 piece because that would be leakin pretty bad lol.

    Re: Shelby Valve Cover

It's the most noticeable item to dress up an engine bay with. You can't go wrong since this one has never been cracked or anything. I probably should just keep it but I don't have any cars that need it put on lol...
