    TIII TU radiator fitment

Has anyone mounted one of these in a TIII with the factory i/c still in use? I saw a few people mention they were interested in them in the threads but Chris stated modifications would need to be made to make them work. I have a TIII rad/ic in my Lebaron and it's a direct bolt in so I just want to know how much work it would be to use one while they are still available.

Thats the answer I got when I asked the same question. Should be good to go, but maybe check with 86Shelby?

I think best bet for the TIII would be to use a TII intercooler as the TIII one has that 3 bolt setup. Or just go front mount.

I never bolted the factory intercooler to my radiator. Had to fab some mounts to get the radiator to work. The fill neck is a fraction of an inch from the hood; it presses on the hood insulation on my car. The hoses went on great. I still need to mount a more permanent fan to it, currently running a GLHS radiator fan.

Additional hood clearance can be obtained by repositioning the lower mounting points.

My hood insulation already hits the TIII rad cap. I'm not sure if it sits any higher than the T1 rad or if it's just that tight of a fit.

I ended up going with a new T1 rad and big FMIC btw.

I didn't know those tabs were bolted on. Then again I never looked at them from the underside. Thanks for tip Chris, I'll look into that the next time I'm under the hood!

They're not on a 91 Lebaron. Not sure what car that is that's posted. Daytona maybe?
