I just talked to Chris & with me upping my order to 2 gaskets that puts us at 33. Chris wanted 40 solid orders to justify production, so we're real close here everybody.

UPDATE: New 16-V Maserati Valve Cover Gaskets

As of Friday the total # of 16-V Maserati Valve Cover Gaskets pre-orders was 33.

We have invested a great deal of our resources and efforts into having these gaskets manufactured. Because of this we have decided to proceed with the project. The only thing that will change is the remaining 67 gasket kits will be available for $200. apiece.

The Credit Cards that were provided by the Group Buy participants will be charged in the next few days for the total amount on the orders already placed. For those who ordered 2 gaskets there will be a reduction applied to correct for shipping overage. If anyone has an issue with the CC# they provided please contact us immediately as this may delay the production of the gaskets.

Thanks again for all those who participated in the Group Buy.

Re: New 16-V Maserati Valve Cover Gaskets

We relied on other sources for the new gasket and new spark plug hole seals. While the gasket was correct, our source had provided us with a new TC cam seal instead of the correct spark plug hole seal. After a few phone calls, we finally received the correct spark plug hole seal sample and got it to our manufacturer. Here's their response on ETA.

"Because this gasket is new we need 25 days to develop the mold and provide you with the first article. As soon as the sample is approved by you it will take an additional 25 days to make 100PCS."

I am waiting on their response now to see if they shipped the first article yet.

Good to hear this is still in the works. My Masi stuff is a long term project to say the least...Nearly forgotten about at this point actually as I have a bunch of other stuff to work on in the meantime, but I would like to reaffirm my commitment to buying four of these gaskets when they become available.

Re: New 16-V Maserati Valve Cover Gaskets

    Progress....

Prototype valve cover gasket has arrived and will be tested shortly. We are still waiting on them to complete the mold for the round spark plug hole gaskets. They should be completed shortly and will be slightly thicker then the factory versions.

We will update you on the results of our testing next week.

    Thanks!

Doesn't Rick D have a ton of those spark plug gaskets? Something we won't have to worry about needing? Thankfully this took long enough to get my taxes back. Please give us a couple days warning before you charge our credit cards.

Yes, he does. However, a few customers, including Alan Jones, requested that we try to include the spark plug hole gaskets for the same cost.

Not all of the CCs provided were charged. The balance of them will be charged after we provide those customers with a courtesy warning.

    Thanks!

The test fitting seemed a little loose at first, but, the gasket did stay firmly in place when installed in the Valve Cover and inverted. We also shook it some and it still remained on with no RTV holding it in place. The gasket will be installed this weekend and test driven in a vehicle long enough to confirm a leak free seal.

Let me know Chris, I'm tired of getting by with my old pieced together gasket.
