We barely ever see these things going over 20 psi with getting hairy as F#@K, so... 4 bar is not an upgrade, it's a lack of resolution for street tuning.

4 bar is not out of the question, ill have to buy the 4bar anyways because i want to run MSpro in whatever chassis i try to put this motor into next (lots of ideas) but right now its in the duster and i dont want to mod the current MS because it works as it is right now. I think 16-18psi on a hx35 with the lovely cams im getting will get me over 400whp and be more than i can handle in a front wheel drive econo car.

your going to love the cams, i got the entry level ones, and even with just 3psi for ring seating my car is a riot to drive. tons of torque and then the hp comes on strong in a nice balanced way. look fwd to 15-20 psi.
hx35 it is then. I havnt read up on the whole twin scroll thing yet but from what i understand, separating the front head from the rear head does not count as twin scroll.

by design a twin scroll keeps the exhaust pulses as isolated as possible to provide the turbine with as much energy as possible to drive the exhaust turbine. separating front and rear banks is exactly what you want to do for our motors with twin scroll. twin scroll is getting more popular as time passes because it can combine the benefits of a large a/r for flow, with the proper flow to deliver strong exhaust gas pulses. lots of flow, and quick spool.

okay wasnt sure. i know the hc1 we just got for my buddies g54 is twin scroll but his manifold is not.. we were thinking about modifiying it but the only way to do that easily would be to run cyl 1&2 together and 3&4 together but i know thats not the right way for a 4cyl like his.

i guess it would not be super hard to modify the kmp crossover. the hardest part for me would be to get the surface completly flat when im done, not sure i want to pull the crossover and get it milled flat *lazy*

we'll see when it coms down to it. I guess id rather mess with the crossover than port out the housing.

so diy claims 95# injectors are good for 510 crank hp on e85. im assuming thats at 43.5psi. I think it would be closer to 600whp but either way, that sounds perfect for me in the event that i can push this motor that far. who knows.

Here's hoping, but that fuel spray will displace a bit of air, which means your effective intake CFM for air drops a bit. So you gain something with e85, but also may lose something. Just thinking that 'coz the sohc 3.0 isn't the breathiest head evarrrr.

e85 packs it's own air. the rumors I hear are that it adds ~5%whp on normally-aspirated cars because of the extra O2.

i know the car felt faster after i made the switch, either way.. 95s are the same cost as 75 and 85#

on a side note, anyone know of a coupler or something that will let me go from 2 2.5" pipes to a single 3inch pipe? Talking intake pipe. think of how ed had his intake but both pointing toward the passenger side.

ive been contemplating the easiest way to get a good intake plenum and the dual plenum on the stock lower seems to fit the bill the best because i cant find a montero lower intake anywhere. might look into my stealth one again but im not feeling it.

as long as it does not melt

not wanting to buy another 2.5inch to 3inch coupler that im currently using on my throttle body.. it was $20 before shipping if i remember right.

or maybe it was the stupid 2inch to 3inch coming off my turbo

Think it's the white PVC the stuff they make tater cannons out of, is best stuff to use, but joints won't flow all that well.

Did you ever find out if the v3 boards will do low or high impedance injectors or both? I thought if it had a 3.57 board you could go either way but i might be making that up. Ebay for a montero lower. I got one a little while ago for like 30 or 40 bucks.

HX40 would be a good match up as well as the hx-35. I'd personally lean more toward the 40 myself. Too bad i just sold a q45 throttle body or i could have sold you that for cheap.
