poignant thread to bring this up in, this has been one of the best 3l threads so far and would be a great path for a new 3l guy to actually turbo their own car.
I agree. this is what we should be working for. there are just to few of us around building these 3.0 V6 cars into turbo charged street machines. if we disagree fine. but if we will to it with respect then we will grow and be better for it. but if we bust each other then other new member will not come out of fear of being busted themselves. I hope all goes well with your car and i hope the best for you sundance and vigo.

I post on the other forum and even there i have never said anything disrespectful. all of this because i don't agree with sundance about installing 24 valve head gaskets on a 12 valve motor. forgive me of this wrong! I have killed the 200+ thread just for you 3's enjoyment. and i hope in the future you find a better way to post a disagreement. then to bust someones balls in open forum!
i stopped going on turbododge after i got fed up of hearing about the dohc headgaskets not working on sohc blocks. Multiple people have run them and make more power than you have made and after you getting on me for telling someone the 2.7L is made of glass. We mod this engine because its strong, not because we want to replace every single damn part in order to make some form of power. If that guy cant handle me telling him the 2.7 L dodge engine is week then he needs to get out of working on cars. If he wants to run the 2.7 and dump tons of money into it, thats fine with me. But it is week in stock form.. you cant just boost something and expect it to hold up.

all that being said, if i wanted to see people argue on a forum, id get into modding suburus or nissans. If anyone else feels the need to poke and jab then they can get the hell out of my thread.

im about 10 seconds away from scrapping this damn car and buying a suburu because at this point it wont be any different than what is happening right now. pissed off people in my PM box and arguing in my thread. at least with a suburu ill be accepted by the local car community and be part of the "cool" group. dont even have to go fast in order to fit in.

    update time -

car needs a wideband and toe adjustment. Pulls like a bat out of hell but my wideband is broken. Im ordering a replacement next week. AEM <3. Toe is a little off i think.. the wide tires make that very easy to see. 3rd gear feels like its torque steering all over but i think its just one wheel loosing traction while the other pulls the car to the side of the road because its toe out is to much. makes sense to me.

yea i got a pm from him and he got rid of a post i made over there cause people are still putting 180 degree themostat and thinking it does something and makes thier car run better. granted i called it stupid information but its still bullshit that he had to change the post because people would get afended cause they are being stupid and following old --- information that doesnt work and hurts performance.

on that note dont scrap ur car i want it lol

and by the way ur car got more respect from me and any other mechanic that knows anything knows how much more work and personal knowlage needed to do something like this yourself and pride you should have in the work you did instead of buying a car that already has a turbo

i wish i had the time and money to put into my lebaron vert to put a turbo in it and have one bad --- vert but time will let me make that happen please dont get out of doing these cars the comunity needs people like you and ondonti and the other few that have done it but havent shared as much as u and ondonti

I think myself, shayne, homeboysduster, and paduster to some extent are all willing to let things go and let this thread get back on track. The only thing that needs to happen for this streak of drama to end is for noone to fan it by bitching any more. Let's be positive and swallow our attitudes for a few posts so the mood in here goes back to normal.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

(Actually better explain that. Back in the mists of time, there were a handful of Utah-centric folks here who tended to have these huge dramas/donnybrooks from time to time.)

It's okay Joe. I drive an SRT-4 daily and i dont fit in around here. Most people think that i'm one of "those" guys. I don't race it and def don't think its fast even though most of the people that give me crap i could walk in a race. Keep on keepin on. I love your car.

i was just kidding anyways. youd need to shoot me to take this car away. but i am going to get a wrx and drive it daily unless it blows up lol

anyways, keep the crap out of my thread plz <3

taking the car to a meet tomorrow. plan on going hard, i work third from here on out so if the car grenades, i can take my dads car to work without even interfering with him. plan on getting my subi in november.

plan for the duster after that... ? not sure. I want to cage it and go AWD. noone has done awd 3.0 duster yet. i know the work to get the trans to mate to the transfer case has been done (kreel) but im more worried about pbody fitment for the driveshaft and rear end, gearing, etc.

i would not be opposed to running the downpipe out the side or the hood to make room for the driveshaft. if im not DDing the car, who cares. it wont last much longer so id like it to go out with a bang before the motor gets pulled and put in a neon or a sandrail or something fun.

Probably want to look more to the AWD omni thread tahn the AWD mini threads for the P body, for rear setup...

Hmmm, just thunk... if I've got an A670 spare with a carved up diff, why am I even considering putting an A670 (or A413) diff back into it...

im not in a hurry really. id like to dyno the car in nov and push it as far as the turbo/injectors want to go. if it holds up, ill back it down a bit and see what i can do and if i actually want to take up such a thing. i know brent wanted to do it and hasnt made much progress, must be tedious. easier to go fast FWD than take your time on AWD but that would sure be cool.

awd would be sweet, but to keep the ability to be able to turn on dry pavement you will need to keep the viscous coupling in the rear axle assembly. and that part itself is the weak link. those vans were quite popular up here and a long time tech i know at langley chrysler said to me to not bother with the idea.
he said stock vans wear out the coupling in less than 40,000 km, albeit a much heavier vehicle, but with much less power, and being driven as a family vehicle.
he quoted me approx $400 per coupling with them becoming more rare every year (with chrysler no longer offering a awd van since 2005?)
truthfully take it for what its worth, how many times have people all said that that wont work, only to have it become the next big thing a bit down the road.

a subaru is definately a more headache free way to get awd, but the have their issues as well (piston slap, some rear diff issues) and if you've been on nasioc much you'll see there is plenty of drama there too. im suprised you wouldnt try to pick up an older awd mitubushi evo or talon and keep it in the family motor wise?

i think you guys missed the entire part about it beeing year 2000+ and me not wanting to mess with it on a daily basis :P

ran the car the other night.. uploading a couple videos in a second. the car felt really slow. Ran an NA m3 and beat him by a car.. maybe. Ran some other fast cars and lost. (buddies 1000whp ready mustang, some colbalt, sti, and a camaro.)

the camero guy and i had a good run, we were both being pulled on by the other cars but him and i were neck and neck for a bit. his face was priceless I think i could have beaten the colbalt but the mustang and sti were really fast. the sti blasted past us while we were flat out!

toward the end of the night the turbo would boost to 8psi and not go any further. EWG wasnt opening so idk why it was stopping at 8psi. the internal gate might have fallen open or a hose might have came off. i know a few vac lines might have melted due to my carelessness. could be a number of things... for all i know the compressor wheel is chewed up or maybe all the spark cut/anti lag ricer reving killed the exhaust wheel. the car starts, runs, drives awsome still so i dont think the engine has any damage.. just not boosting as quickly or as much.

I loved that as well, even the 2nd vid was a valiant effort to keep up with some sick cars! I thought the duster did great on low boost- you could tell it wanted more, given enough fuel and good afr
