Yes filler tube can be annoying. You can push it into the tank quite a few inches to get more clearance when dropping. Drop tank a little, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle yeah, drop tank, repeat.

I would worry more about the bolts. I was super careful on the Spirit because I didn't want to do ghetto stuff like I did on the Duster. The Duster had the studs break off with a few threads showing so I used a tall nut and cut off a piece of bolt and "extended" the stub. That car has a fuel cell now so it doesn't matter but I used the OEM tank straps so its nice to know if I want to improve it I can just get some pipe strapping. One of my "hooks" popped off where i had it and I have not gotten to that yet.

i have a few ideas on getting my straps to work

Assuming i get the car ready and assuming Blake has his ready (clutch swap tomorrow morning), we will both drive our p bodys to the bbq meet thing that is like 45min away. im sure we will get plenty of looks considering most of the guys there will be driving imports.

Blakes car (menace2society) was a fun one to drive for sure. i only got to drive it in the rain but it has 10:1 pistons, some re grind, ed's ported heads/tb/intake and a big exhaust. its funny because it has a stock ecu and still pulls stupid hard. makes my theory about ported heads leaning you out to much to make power without a tune although he does not have a wideband in the car.

I dont think force fed was making a joke.. you dont have to drop the tank to do a fuel pump. I think that's what he was getting at.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

either way, i didnt drop it to get it out the second time.. its hanging pretty low but i was able to leave the filler tube connected AND inside the fender.

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

okay so the fuel pump "module assembly" i ordered is really the assembly and some cheep chineese pump.

so i took the pump out and noticed that the assembly is different than the stock unit.

so im taking the top part (with the hard lines) and attaching it to the oem bottem part. The walbro sits in the stock unit better so this will work

then i notice the walbro has a small ID stem than the china pump. So the seal for the top part of the assembly is bigger to acomadate the chineese pump.

so i took the seal out of the broken oem top assembly and rigged it to work in the new assembly. i say rigged because its not meant to go there. It fits the way i have it and dosnt move arund and also seals the walbro like it should.

those are the only differences i noticed. It would be nice if i had found an OEM style assembly.. would have made things easier.

the pump should be in tonight after i go to work.

i felt like the car was to slow yesterday. even in boost. i forgot to check the Intake temps though.. my guess is my timing retard for intake temp pulled timing. i remember setting it really agressive. im used to 65*f iat readings while in boost because i havnt driven it in the heat yet. I threw some more timing (timing that ive ran before and didnt explode) but it hink ill back it back down 1* and then take a look at the IAT timing retard table and see what its set at. i think i set it really agressive.

filled up on e85. Feels faster when at 8psi. i did a quick tune and 8psi seems to be in the 11s and very high 10s. on gas i was in the low 10s because i hadnt had a chance to tune it. the fast probebly came from the car running leaner during boost. i wont toucht he timing yet.

E85 will produce more HP because it is oxygenated. What changes to the ms tune did you make to run the e85?

increased the ve table ALOT. adding 15-20 to each spot gave the car good drivability during cruise and WOT. (i also changed the injector size to 46 but i did that and tuned while i was still on 93pump.

if your VE values start getting too high (200's) you probably want to up your Req fuel # and re-tune your VE #'s back down. the Req fuel# is the biggest multiplier in the MS fuelling equation.

naw. 11psi is seeing like 123ve value and its still too rich

the turbo is laggy but not as lagy as before. still have gehtto ducttape and exhaust leak.. im thinking its the WG flange. need to find a new 46mm vband flange... but i cant find one.

looking at some logs from tonight, having the stock air damn installed to the front of the car dropped my coolant temp levels by 5-10 degrees while boosting. i ran more boost tonight and had the car heat up less. pretty cool.

intake temps where very low tonight too. it was pretty cool out though.

I would suggest going after IAT corrections of timing before messing with base timing. That screws up the whole point of having the IAT correction! Don't get lazy over a few mouse clicks when you have to work so hard after mouse clicks go wrong.

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

i wasnt. i remember at one point i had set the correction table up really agressive (like pull 3 degrees at 100 intake temp) so i figured that is what made the car feel slow. the table wasnt as agressive as i remembered though.. i was pulling .5 degrees at 110 intake temp.

110 is the highest i have ever seen this car ever go in the entire history of its megasquirt. my problem is knowing how to set up the correction table because i dont know where the engine knocks and what intake temp level is too much. im so used to seeing 60* temps that when i see 100* i start to get scared :P

110* is tame compared to some setups. (you ARE reading your temps in *F right?). I hope I can keep intake temps below 120* on my setup, otherwise my motor may go *boom*...

Some of the high boost apps start to see intake temps climb toward 200* or more...for reference

    yes f degrees.

the car drives and starts up awsome. not sure if its the injectors or the 85 but i have to run significantly less startup enrichment now. mucccccchhh less. i can even smell it too
