Always soak the tank straps in PB or Kroil before removing. Lock ring ...do the same and then probably best to use a brass punch and be patient with it. Once you get the ring out it should be easy in the future. Once i installed my walbro the first time...it literally only took like 20 mins to do it again. If you broke the strap bolts off then yes i believe you can get to them from under the pass seat but i can't really remember. I know you can buy new straps themselves from third party manufacturers. As far as the "quick" connect fuel fittings don't bother attempting without the removal tool. Even then...pain in the butt. Good luck.

Funny fuel connectors, Don't think I have those on my van, but others I've met I cut a piece out of an ice cream or marge tub and wrapped it round and shoved it in there to release them. Lock ring, I've used a chunk of brass rod... you might find a large brass screw or something, or flatten the end of a short piece of plumbing copper and hit with a mallet (hammer will bend the end up too quick) or if you find hard hardwood, you might do okay with that.

can those hoses be replaced by regular fuel injection hose and do away with those dumb clamps? Maybe use regular quality worm drive clamps? i cant see why not as long as it dosnt leak.

im about to just cut all those hoses in half and then pick at the dumb clamps till they come out. Wish i could afford a setup like the junkyards fuel system. stainless lines and a damn fuel cell.

If you just cut the old hoses off with a pipe cutter you could slide fuel injection hose on BUT be sure to expand the end of the steel line with something like a flare tool to prevent the hose of sliding off and lighting your car on fire.

Also, make sure to use the fuel injection hose and clamps!

Those fuel sender retaining rings can be a real pain in the ---. I've had to drop the gas tank to get the one out of my old Sundance years ago.

Clamps? The factory quick connect ends? Yeah I wouldnt trust them once they've been tampered with either haha. You should be able to pick up the tool at any parts store for like 10 bucks. Just make sure you get the correct size line one.

    yeah the quick disconnects

they havnt been tampered with really but im about to rig someting up to rip them off and replace them with quality clamps (not something that will loosen up like a cheep clamp would)

i guess that makes removal easy then cuz now i can just pull and tear till they break.

i already have to pull the rear seat to replace those dumb strap bolts that snapped.

Haha thats true. Make sure you get some sort of flare on those lines though. They will pop off pretty easy without it.

looking at the laptop, the rev limiter is deff set to 7500rpms. ive been free reving to 7500 and it sounds and feels great! no ugly valve float like the stock stuff!!!

cant wait to pull to that rpm in gear. hopefully the power drop off isnt that noticable. once the car hits a certain rpm it sounds like it skyrockets to the limiter. you can just tell its a rev happy engine.

I always just used a large flathead screwdriver and metal hammer on the lockring. Never had problem as long as I was hitting it the correct direction.

I love the quick connects and hate that I broke the ones on my Duster. I would gladly take some more from the junkyard and put them onto the ends of both my feed lines (duel oem feed lines). The secret is to push the connector the opposite way you want to pull it, then pull in the plastic release. You can tell when you don't do both of those movements enough. They will not release if you are pulling on the hose or even keeping it in the location it naturally sits.

In front of the tank usually.... but I don't speakee P body all that fluently.

Usual setup is that they're bolted at the front, and have a key slot at the back where you can twist them and drop them out... hard to explain, the ends have a notch each side, and it's posted through a slit and turned so they can't pull out.

Maybe you can't see them too well for the exhaust routing..
