Not for that little $. Seems more like 100 dollars for a set.

My idle valve still won't work on my Spirit and I have an OEM cam so I am sure I have another bad valve. I traced all the wires back to the ECU hoping they were backwards and no dice.
My problem has been that the valves are overextended when I install them so I have to....smash them in with the screws to get it to seat against the tb. I would like to retract them before installing.

$100 to rebuild injectors? naw, its a guy on 3si that does it at his job. he says to just pay for the kits he would be using and the labor is free for 3si members. He did the math for me and said it would cost him just under 30 to rebuild 6 injectors and ship them back to me.

im not to worried about idle control really.. i started it today and it fired up and idled with a little help that i didnt actually need to give it.

i fixed my no start situation. the tps that i dont use was unplugged and causing it to go into clear flood mode due to it thinking i was above 70% throttle. tps said 2000% or something stupid.. now it sits at 0 and fires up without any help

---------- Post added at 03:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:18 PM ----------

about the injectors, im wondering if its worth it to clean and rebuild them.. i meen its cheep and if it makes a difference then hell yeah. who knows what condition these injectors are that i use.. they should have had 93 octane all their life but who knows what people do with their poniacs..

makes me want to drive my car

i need to make a decent video too.. those two pulls with the r32 and wrx were crap. our chase car was a honda civic and well we lost him right away LOL

Hmm I think I need to check some AIS values too :P Who knows where I obtained various throttlebodies.

or you could just wire it 4 different ways and see what works :P

edit edit edit: brent your right too.... if a 93 ecu is used and lets say it has the new wiring for the ais, a 88 ais will deff not work

maybe this is why mine never worked too? i never kept track of the years

found what might have been a leak.. turned out to be fine but i replaced it anyways

    stuff

brackets/supports. didnt spend much time on these but they worked out great. drilled a hole, bolted them on and got ready to weld

this part used to be even more ghetto than it is now. i need to find nice clamps that are that small. The first clamp on the compressor housing blew off after a few times into boost and im pretty sure it was leaking due to the whistle i was hearing before hand.

    i like my new VC

little 110 did alright. first time welding sense last school year. leaying on my back and sparks all over my face FTW!! i miss it.. used to weld everyday. wish i had done more aluminum so i could do sexi welds on my intake piping

i eventually went over them again and welded the whole piece

no interference! bumper bolts right on

just needs my grill put on

also replaced a wheel studd and strut bolts. needs an alignment and ill hit the road daily drivin

Good point. My AIS motor doesn't even fit the normal way, it points directly into the radiator hose and is almost impossible to get the connector on. Pretty sure this one is oldschool original 3.0 52mm tb. I think I had two in my collection. I was collecting them back in the day because I was thinking that not having to swap TPS sensors was...so awesome.

I'd make some brackets to hold the IC from the top too. Maybe those flat pieces won't bend though.

i wanted too but im convinced this will hold. as it sits now, its 500% better than the first time around.

i had to run this timing table... with my low timing table i hit brick walls and what felt like spark cut rev limiters.. advanced it and that feeling went away.. i think i slowed the spool though... i didnt have the hickups at low rpms so ill retard that area a little and see if i can spool earlier. the low timing table seemed to spool faster. i only have a pic of my current table witch is similar to what i have always ran

Put a thin band of retarded timing say 100-105.

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

you sure i should retard it right there? i was thinking maybe at 115kpa. id like to leave my timing for 100kpa were it is. i build a little bit of boost almost instantly but it dosnt start to really build until late in the rpms.. its weird. i forget if i have the wastegate stuck open so ill have to check... but i dont think i do. once i do some fooling around i might post a log of my boost curve in 3rd from 1500rpms to redline ish.

im going to check cam timing just to make sure but i think its fine. the diamante cams helped a little maybe but you can feel the power dip down at 5500rpms and it shows in the ve table. my afr gets richer even though VE is going down significantly aka power loss

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Ideal would be for a short period of time after the throttle goes WOT, but I don't control doesn't support that feature as far as I know. A log of the MAP would help...

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

yeah once i verify im not leaking boost and such ill do a log from 3rd at a near dig and retard timing until it hits that spot were it really likes to spool. Another thing to consider is

    1) my tires wont take much more power down load
    2) rear manifold is stock and flowing terribly due to my setup

so maybe its just something ill have to live with. i like the power but i just feel like it hurts on the highway when i need (and my tires can handle) 8psi right off the bat. 3rd gear at 55mph takes a second to spool and thats when the wrx and r32 both pulled away from me, its not until the top of 3rd and a quick shift into 4th that i keep the power were it should be and start to catch up. i dont like having to do 120+ just to beat a car that "should" be making less power than me and weighs more.

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

You have to make a bit of decision about spool vs optimum timing. Do you really need full power at WOT with no boost? Or can you survive with always using 1-2 pounds of boost to accomplish the same thing but be a little less laggy.

Or change your rear manifold. I would have to think my HE341 is larger then the turbo you are running and it sounds like it is a lot more responsive. Your 4th gear sounds like my 3rd gear except I don't get a "lag" I just don't get full boost until rpms rise. My power is not impressive but it is responsive. Running diamante cams as well.
I need to get around to doing some video. I did my first actual pull with diamante cams driving home from work in 3rd and it was boring at 6-7 psi and it was a little rich (11.0 above 5000). I would gain power going leaner but I need to go colder on the plugs. Missing the cams but I know I can't use them without some sort of nice solid insert hydraulic roller setup. I have not gained anything for MPG so I am double unfunhappy

The good thing about being laggy is that you are putting a lot less stress on your motor which is probably not a bad thing on your first go round when you don't want to dig into the engine for awhile.

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

in all honesty.. its not bad when i need it. shifting at 3rds redline gets me to the spot in 4th where the power comes right back.. so its there when i need it.

i always forget about my ghetto intake cold pipe at the throttle body and the fact that it could be leaking boost :P nothing else matters while im driving and im quick to blame other things. That and the rear manifold setup is always forgotten about :P i dont think id have trouble building something half decent in comparison. its a matter of getting around to doing it and im to lazy when things are working, just not working 100$.
