I read that book.... about 50 times or so... it starves for a cohesive plot, the character development is thin and the narrative lacks depth.... but the kids liked the illustrations.

hahahahhahahaha
relay wiring confuses me
i get that it works like this
12volts is supplied when the key is turned to the run position. This power gets grounded to the battery. once power is supplied to the relay from the ign switch, the relay turns on and effectively sends power from the battery to what ever the relay is for.
i just dont get what pins on the relays are for what.
the way i have the relays in the picture make sense to me... just not sure what pins are what
Pin 30 - Fused power from battery
Pin 85 - Ground
Pin 86 - Switching trigger (Switched +12)
Pin 87 - +12 output (When the relay is closed). Some relays have 2 outputs, and the second can be named 87A
Here's a bit of an article:

still dont have that diagram ._.
but thanks for the relay info.. hopefully i figure it out
---------- Post added at 01:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:21 PM ----------
so the relay has to be fused? that screws everything up for me
---------- Post added at 01:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:21 PM ----------
nvm i guess it dosnt have to as long as the thing its powering has a fuse.. which everything will be fused. right now nothing is fused
okay started tearing apart my harness. found it easiest to just chop everything at the firewall hole and then rip it out like a barbarion.
so ill need to re wire the following
Alt
Starter
Oil pressure sensor
coolant temp (single wire, for cluster gauge)
sensor for the brakes (is this functional? there was a one wire sensor under the brake booster)
headlights
speed sensor
turn signals
reverse light sensor
and anything else that is in the engine bay that is controled from the cabin
if someone knows something i dont, please fill me in. I litteraly chopped everywire out so if im missing something important let me know
bond b is would be nice to get that diagram so i know what wires are for the starter relay and for run position and things like that.
thanks
bond bbbbbs...
wiring diagram plz
just so i can keep track
oil pressure sensor done
left headlight, needs ground wire then done.
well rewiring isnt as bad as i thought
i got ahaid of my self and chopped everything up but now its all good. I have the starter relay wired.. the interior stuff works now (radio, dinger, cluster lights, etc)
i dont think heat is working yet.. ill have to look into that.
as far as under the hood wiring goes.. i ran alot of the wires in a way that they would be hidden so it looks pretty nice already and im not even done yet
MS is all wired save for MS power wire, fuel pump wire, and o2 input wire. they fuel pump, main, and MS relay are ready to be wired in.. shouldnt take much time but ill finish it tomorrow.
no headlights or corner lights yet.. ill have to figure that one out too. shouldnt be too hard. only thing is, i cant seem to find out if we had a headlight relay... the wire coming from the headlight switch is the same color combo as the wire coming off the headlight pigtail... my HID's dont have brights so im only wiring in the low beams to save room for other wires.
I apologize chief - personal life has been kicking the ---- outta me. 2 jobs, buying a car, selling a car, and moving into a place that doesn't have internet access has killed me.
dude its cool. i can take care of my self when i need to
car runs.. tps is bad or something. suspect is the ground. drove it on map based accel only.. no laptop or wideband (accel not tuned for map) so drivability was interesting when getting on the gas but it did drive
lots of oil burning... not sure if it sitting for a while plus idling for a while was the cause but it was embarrassing.
need to wire in headlights and running lights.. mainly headlights along with boost gauge and wideband. All interior stuff works!
ill have pictures when i clean up the wire tuck.
okay so the car drives now. Just finished wiring in gauges and making sure the wires were hidden. Need to still wire in headlights, turn signals/ driving lights along with the speedo... then i can hide the extra wires and finish hiding things.. maybe even clean up some of the gunk that i never noticed before. Everything on the intearior works (dinger, dash, gauges, radio, amps, speakers.. the works)
i think it looks damn good compared to stock (we all remember that mess)
not perfect by any means but deff better.. If i had more time (not DDing it) i would have made every single wire hidden as hell.
and because i know we have a few wrx fans. friend just got this and i thought my phone took some damn good pictures of it.
Looks almost exactly the same as my new wheels - just mine is a sedan with the factory widebody.
yeah i like the sedan better. im a sucker for the blue ones with the gold wheels and brakes and lowered just enough.. they look soo nice. cant stand the engine bay though
What do you do to clear the distributor when you reverse the intake like that?
i have to use half inch spacers between the lower and upper intake. problem is hood clearance is an issue with just a half inch and half inch is barely enough to clear the dizzy... one of the wires rubs but it hasnt effected anything yet.
in a tona or a spirit you can run 1inch spacers just fine. Solid mounts also keep the plenum from rubbing the hood when WOT.
Gotcha, I thought spacers as soon as I posted lol. What'd you do for a throttle cable? Use a turbo cable? I'm wanting to reverse the one on my V6 project.
get a cable from a 3.3 mini van. thats what i used
make sure the cable is supported when you route it though, sometimes it can fall down a little and get stock and cause you to stay wot even when you let off. i made a braket that supported the cable and have never had the issue again.
Cool. Where did you get the spacers from? Ed?
i laser cut them out of steal. you can make them out of anything from hardwood to delrin. I dont recommend steal unless you can verify its perfectly flat
On the spacers I have been toying with having a batch made, but the price would likely be $120/pair....
For the throttle cable, the longest is for full-size van...
