TOTALLY forgot about the map sensor line

i really hate that crap.. if i had to complain about something it would be the megasquirt map sensor.

i should still be able to run my map sensor line but its going to be a pain.

Before i had MS mounted under the hood but thats probably not a good idea.

Since you're planning to drive in the winter, and the case of the MS2 isn't weather proof, I would highly suggest inside the cabin. Helps keep the temperature moderated a bit better, and much less moisture.

I also didn't realize ABS cars had a line through the passenger side.. hmm.. though the heater unit would get in the way of that.

You can an external map sensor with MS. A GM 3 bar is common one to use. A TD 2-bar would work too. Then you can use the on-board sensor for constant baro correction.

that means more wiring though.. haha. maybe in the future, for now ill have to live with it. i seem to have routed the vac line nicely so it wont kink in any situation.

cant wait to get my megasquirt back. the idle control on my car is horrible combined with a bunch of other things that are wrong (CEL light is on, flashed like 6 codes but i cant remember what they were...) but i dont care much because when megasquirt is running, the car is perfect. Coolant temp stays where it needs to be, car pulls hard, great afr all the time.. dont know what more you could ask for.

Not a huge deal having that vac line in there. I have a vac line running to the MAP sensor for my Zietronix, for the boost controller, and for MS. I like everything to be in the cab.
Hating your MS happiness. Hating my ghetto fuel. Been charging my Duster's battery. Maybe my next project will be figuring out my idle control problem with MS so I would be happier swapping it into my Spirit.

how cold does it get in your area? i never need idle control until the dead of winter.. even then i can get by as long as i start it like a carbed car.

my idle control works but its not flawless.. it likes to rev up a little when i shift.. so if i shift under 2000rpms its a shitty noob like shift and the whole car rocks.. i unplugged it today and now i idle good.

your jelly of my MS experience? :P Im not going to lie, im a little pissed that it stopped working.. diy will confirm if thats a MS issue or if my wiring changed somehow.. and the whole breaking the pins off the cpu pissed me off but i guess thats my fault.

That cross over looks like it would put the turbo high turbos the back of the car, or high towards the front - not sure which direction it would go -- assuming rearwards.

not sure if it matters where the flx joint goes, but on the stock crossover, its on the rear side.

im hopeing he has a rear log from ed or something... he mentioned a rear headers but he has yet to get back to me.

Well that issue with your AIS doesn't make me happy. It should work. That rev up on shift is the same problem I am having and its pissing me off SO much. I still want idle control. I know it can work.
I wonder if we just have crappy AIS motors. My Dusters just flat out doesn't work as it goes from 900 rpms to 1900 as it warms up so I just had to crank the throttle plate way down to avoid the 1900 rpms, and stab the throttle on cold starts to keep it running. Pretty sure it has a wire backwards in the harness (mine was not labeled on the AIS wires) or the board).

I don't understand why the ECU jacks up idle the moment it seems rpms drop, or why is the AIS opening at cruise. I am not running a speed sensor to the ECU so I can understand some issues.
How does your idle behave with the OEM ecu? I have a feeling my problem is related to the speedo wire, something MS does not deal with. OEM ecu seems to freak out the moment it sees RPMs drop, regardless of actual RPM. I think thats because it doesn't know the car is moving so it always thinks you are idling...?

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

i am running stock ecu right now. this new TB and sensor worked great before the MS install.. and even then it still worked when i drove on stock ecu but now it always seems to come down to idling at 1900rpms once fully warmed up so i pulled the ias motor out and adjusted it to full closed and put it back in, never plugged it back in. i idle at like 500rpms so ill have to up my idle speed. that will help cold starting a little bit.

i know why its so hard to start in the cold. the warmup for the stock ecu is crap.. once my wideband turns on, it reads 20afr.... MS would read rich at idle.. 12.4 or something. i always leaned out the warmup to something like 15:1 but 20:1 is bad. with ms i should have nicer warmup for the cold (with no idle control)

One thing you have to remember as well is that heated O2 sensors can take some time to warm up evenly and read properly. I think the temperature they need to reach is something like 250 C, so on really cold days, it could take a little while before it reads properly.

while this is true ^ that is not the case

the 20:1 afr when first starting and idling is not just displayed, but you can feel it. Its probably caused by the gm cts.. DOH!

What the gauge displays and the lamba reading are the same - so if the sensor isn't reading properly, the tune would be being based off its reading as well, so you would feel it and see it on the gauge.

you must not be up to date on my situation. im running stock ecu right.. wideband means nothing.. its just a reading

stock ecu + gm cts = super lean warm up cycle because the ecu must think the car is already somewhat warm.

thinking about this muffler. currently i just have a 3inch magnaflow and i think i just payed for the name.. this one looks pretty good and should help keep noise slightly down without getting rid of flow.. i also need something to fit out of the bumper. the magnaflow is where the stock cat would be and the bumper area just has a pipe that is not long enough to fit.. this muffler might fix that and give a nicer look with the two outlets

Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

will MS guess that i want an 11.5 AFR at 150kpa if my afr table is set up as follows

    190kpa 11.5afr ----------------11.5
    100kpa 11.5 AFR --------------- 11.5
    90
    80
    etc

the only afr targets for boost in the table would be 100 and 190 but i want everything in between to be 11.5 as well so i would assume megalog viewer would understand this
