hey guys, need to install the heater core lines in the lancer.
just wondering what one goes where??

its got that funky vaccuum thingy on it....i can see which ones attach to the engine itself, just not sure if u can mix up the other 2 going to the heater core itself??

Just plume the head to the top heater core pipe and the bottom to the water pump.

If you eliminate the heater bypass valve(vacuum 'block'), the 'heater' will always be on inside the car which would suck azz in the summer...

You should keep the bypass valve if possible or else bypass the heater core altogether if you don't want heat.

ahhh so this is what that thing does.....im trying to figure out how it still really works tho?? like its got the vac nipple, but theres no real way to control the vacuum to it?

i got the whole unit with lines soaking in a tub with some dawn dishsoap to help get all the grease off. ill get a pic of it and maybe someone can tell me which wire runs to it.....

but very tempted to just do what bakes said because its simple and I can make the install much simpler with shorter lines....

the vac line runs inside to the heater controls.

On my pickup there is a simple shutoff valve. Turn it on in the winter, off in the summer.

hmm i only have 1 vac line coming out from there. i just attached it to the vacuum booster. its nowhere near long enough to reach the regulator. i could run a vac line off the TB to it tho....

ok well after cleaning the lines and flushing them out, it was evident it only flows 1 way, so ill just wire ever thing up to what bakes said!

Re: need diagram for heater core water lines

The valve simple limits coolant flow to the heater core when MAX A/C is selected on the A/C controls. In any position other than MAX A/C the valve allows for full flow through the heater core. Vacuum is applied to the valve when on MAX A/C.

It doesn't keep the heater on all the time, or off all the time. That's the duty of the temp blend door under the dash.

The vacuum control is towards the top. The upper heater hose uses the top 2 nipples, the lower heater hose uses the bottom two nipples. It really is as simple as that.

Oh heck, if you are putting this in in a non-A/C car it is pointless. Don't even bother
