    Re: Injector firing timing

I believe the SBEC cars can do it. Chrysler has a patent on it and it appears to reference the distributor HEP signal. I have not decoded enough of the distributor interrupt routine to know for sure if they used it in or not. For sure, nothing earlier than the SBEC varies the injector timing.

    Re: Injector firing timing

The 3.0 SBECs do it by referencing an optical tone wheel thingy in the diz... so you mess with injection timing at the same time as ignition when you advance or retard it.

Anyhoo, I would assume it's relative to the diz still on TMs so if you want exact, you have to know how many degrees of base you've got... buuut, I dunno really if this is gonna help top end power much, matters more for economy I believe. Besides, if it's batch not sequential it's shooting closed ports half the time whatever you do.

    Re: Injector firing timing

If you consider that the intake valve is only open for ~100deg or so of crank angle, it's only ever open for 28% of the cycle. At wot, the injector duty cycle will be 50% and higher. So, even with full sequential injection, the fuel usually hits a closed intake valve. Sequential only is a benefit at duty cycles below 28% - idle and part throttle cruise.
