My factory FSM contradicts each other.... I have a '91 and a '92.
The '91 FSM says:
Closed: 1.590" @ 73lbs
Open: 1.344" @ 225lbs
The '92 FSM says:
Closed: 1.730" @ 115 to 127lbs
Open: 1.344" @ 255 to 275lbs
What gives? Now... 1.730" appears to be the correct closed/installed heights, but the 1.344 doesn't seem to be the correct open as that means the valve has a peak lift at .386" vs the .341 I measured (found a spec of .337 on allpar)
Even if they want you to test the open #s at .386" both the '91 and '92 FSM pressure #s for lbs just aren't the same.
Now the '91 FSM closed (installed height) seems wrong, too... at 1.590" and especially a low 73lbs.
Anyone have any input? I need exact #s so I know whether I need the increased installed height Ti retainers, or stockers are still ok with the cams I am using.
