Will my stock 2.25" swingvalve accept a 2.5" exhaust upgrade?

I'm hoping to get this exhaust installed tonight but want to make sure that the 2.5" exhaust donut and downpipe will bolt up to my stock swingvalve first. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

If it's an 88, it'll bolt right on. An 87 will require a bit of grinding to the flange in order to bolt up. 87 and earlier cars have a narrower bolt spacing than 88+ cars.

So the 2.25 exhaust on the T3 will fit on the 2.5'' exhaust on my shadow?

Not to hijack but along the same lines here - Will I need a newer donut when I take my stock DP off? I know the car is 21 years old but it only has 46k miles on it.

    Thanks!

Well mine is an '85....so I'll have to grind the new exhaust flange then?

Yep, you'll have to cut a bit out of the bolt holes to get it to line up with the narrower bolt spacing on the 87 and earlier turbos. Not a big deal at all though. But you might have a bit of an extra struggle with the downpipe bolts.

If the turbo is an 88, it'll bolt right up. If it's 87 or older, you'll have to notch it a bit. Either way it'll fit with little or no modification.
