    T-III A/C Leak Fix = NAPA 5795 Copper Gskt

I have found that a lot of the A/C leaks that have been giving me problems for years is that there is a crushable copper washer/gasket under the four bolts on the back side of the Compressor. See attached Pic. There is no Mopar part number for these washers because they are part of the compressor that is not a Mopar part. I found that NAPA has a copper gasket for brake calipers that fits perfectly and only costs $.51 each. If you are having leaking problems or are just getting ready to put your A/C back in use after being down for several years, I recommend replacing the copper washers prior to trying to recharge the system. The NAPA Part number is 5795.

    Excellent tip!

You will need 4 washers. Also be very careful to screw the bolt in by hand until it is snug to the washer then (using a pocket screwdriver) make sure that the washer drops into the Counterbore. Then tighten them using the German Torque procedure; "goood'n'tite"! If you just tighten the bolt with a socket, the washer may not seat properly and then you will bend the washer and have to replace it. Don't bother asking me how I know this.
