Yes, they rub the heads off of the trees though on a slight turn. Nice observation.
Thanks guys I feel a lot more at ease about buying these wheels.
What trees are we talking about rubbing heads off of?!
I run 245/40r17 on 17x8 +35 as well.

So I ordered some wheels and of course they ended up calling me and saying that they wouldn't fit the car. I kind of figured that would happen though. They basically just said well if they dont fit we wont take them back or assist in any way if it damages the fenders. I told them just to order them because I know they'll fit. Hopefully before too long they'll make it here.
thread back from the dead. I mounted the wheels on the car befire having the tires mounted because I can not return them once tires have been mounted. While it is jacked up and the wheel is flush there is only a fingers width of clearance between the wheel and the strut. Is this going to be a problem?
That should be ok. The tire you plan on running isn't going to be much wider than the rim.
a finger between the wheel and the strut sounds about right. On my 17x8 car i think there is about that much, and then way less than a finger between the tire and the strut.
Remember that your camber angle also affects that clearance so you can adjust it to make it fit in the short term if it ends up hitting as is. Then, if necessary, you can just throw some cheap 5mm spacers on it that dont require any different lug nuts or studs, and put the camber back where it was.

well the wheels and tires are on. I drove it around for quite a while and didn't have any issues. layed under the car to check out the insides of the tires to see if there were any signs of touching at all and saw nothing. Thanks for all the replies guys. I will have to post a pic here soon and let everyone see it.
That is correct.I will have to post a pic here soon

what size tire and how much camber are you running?
the tires are 225/40/18 nitto 555. On sharp turns it rubs slightly but its not enough to affect anything. as far as camber im not sure.
Even stock wheels and tires will rub on the end of the transmission on most of these things. Do you know where it's actually rubbing?
