    Factory Build Sheet?

I'm working on an 84 Rampage and was wondering if Chrysler still tucked the build sheet in the car somewhere like they did with the old Mopars. I used to find them under the seat between the springs. Has anyone found one for an 80's car and where was it?

Some have them, some dont. My Shadow has been owned by me/us since new and I've had the entire car apart and never found one.

+1 found one in my 88 Omni under carpeting, found one under my rear seat (in springs) in my 85 GLHT. Both of them being low mileage 2 owner cars. None in other dozen or so Omni's I've owned.

    Re: Factory Build Sheet?

on some you can take the VIN# to a Mopar parts dept. and have them run it and you can get a
complete print-out of EVERYTHING but that according to my buddy at Mopar only will work on the 1990 or so up models.

I did it on my 92 IROC R/T and my 94 Van and the detail is amazing even down to how much gas it had in it. And all the
option codes are there so the codes on your tag under the hood make sense.

BTW I have the decoding books from 1989 -96 so I can tell what a code under the hood was and what it cost on an ordered car.

    Re: Factory Build Sheet?

My brother found three copies under the rear seat of his 90 Daytona, found it under the passenger rear carpet of my old Daytona, I found two copies under #212's passenger rear carpet, and in another one I dealt with found one under the driver's rear carpet. It's odd how some cars had none but others had multiple copies lol...

    Re: Factory Build Sheet?

Pretty much. Keep in mind when these cars were being built, even the highly collectible cars we see today weren't worth much. The assembly line workers really weren't thinking about whether a given car was ever going to be restored or even around 25 years down the road.

Factories don't set out to build collectible cars. Some of them just got lucky.

    Re: Factory Build Sheet?

Well I didn't find one under the carpet or rear panel, nothing in the seat springs. The good news is the floor pans are in very nice shape. I doubt it has one at this point. I'm going to try the dealer in the morning and see what they can tell me about the truck.
I did find one in a 69 Charger on top of the gas tank and it was still good.

Here goes mine. Kinda useless though since I have no clue what the number and letter codes actually represent. Found about 4 of them under my rear seats.

    Re: Factory Build Sheet?

On one of my Shelby Z's it was under the carpet in perfect shape, along with a paint quality evaluation and water spray test evaluation. My car must have been picked for qc. On another Z, it was also under the carpet, but some moisture got in there and the build sheet was glued to the floor, and in bad shape.
Haven't pulled up the carpet on either of the other cars.

    Re: Factory Build Sheet?

Mine are pretty haggard. There was a lot of water and rust under the carpet. I've still got them, although they really don't amount to anything since so little of the car is still factory.
