The NA build with sidedraft carbs?
ive been having luck with motorcycle carbs lately (mounted to multiple engines from 1.3 to 2.0 so far), flow awesome, still give good tq when running short manifolds because of the "CV" effect, cheap to buy used (unless u want fcr carbs, those are like 1000), don't suffer much from turns or not being mounted perfectly level, and can be mounted at an upward angle (well supposed to be, but can be mounted pretty extreme) to gain room if needed.

just an option unless you have the carbs already... id love to see pics...

That powerplant definately has sex appeal Do you have a goal or expectations of how much HP/TQ it will make? How about how fast you will allow it to turn?

I suspect HP will be in the area of 200. Not sure about torque except it will be more than my old 525 could endure. This is basically a street car that will autocross and drag race on occasion, but it'll see some high revs on occasion.

Re: Show off your L bodies!!

So since my brother and I were in somewhat of a mad thrash to get the Rampage RT (RRT) ready for Mopars at the Strip(3 weeks ago, just behind on updates) When we re-centered the motor and trans, we didn't notice that the PS pulley was making light contact with the passenger side frame horn. When we fired it up it was making a strange noise that I thought was the timing belt hitting the plastic cover until BOOM!! The composite pulley let go with a substantial amount of energy release Kinda surprising that it sounded that way. It helped me make up my mind, no more PS for the RRT and no more AC as long as I am paring down the weight. The worlds heaviest Rampage is losing a few pounds

We did find a few manual racks in a wharehouse in Texas but as I remember from the conversion to manual on my red GLHS, finding the yoke to couple them was the issue. The manual rack has a much smaller spindle drive gear(shaft). The RRT already uses a tilt steering column and coupler from a Spirit RT we parted out so for this conversion we just chopped off the spline gear from the larger power steering rack and then chopped the manual rack the same amount. A little MIG welding later and we're good to go. Haven't driven it yet because I'm still buttoning up a few things but I'm hoping I notice the weight loss over the front wheels

RedBox made it's debut at Cars And Coffee today, had a good crowd around it most of the show. Some guys even asked valid questions and I got lotsa 'oh, I remember these...' I had to LOL at a kid in his early 20's that said, "I haven't seen one of these in a loooong time" I said dude, at your age when have you EVER seen one of these

Sweet. Now that you got some time with her, how's the ride?
    John Laing

"The sole condition which is required in order to succeed in centralizing the supreme power in a democratic community, is to love equality, or to get men to believe you love it. Thus the science of despotism, which was once so complex is simplified, and reduced . . . . to a single principle."
    -- Alexis de Tocqueville

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."
    --Ayn Rand

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."

I have a recollection of you installing the tilt back in the SDML days, has it been that long???

Overall it went well. Fundamentally the car works which was my main concern. It braked straight w/o locking up front or rear, no massive understeer or unpredictable behavior. I had no problem keeping pace in the group (naturally some stuff was way quicker than me). I even had a e36 owner come by and comment on how surprised he was at the car.

I had some mechanical issues that cut my day short but overall it was awesome (other than the fact it was a heat advisory day in AZ).
