    Another ARP main stud question

Ok, I'm re-ringing a used common block for my Daytona. This block was previously assembled with the non-common block main studs. All the main bearings look perfect, so there didn't seem to be any issues, however, just for peace of mind I'd like to buy the four studs that are different. Could anyone tell me the correct length and sizes?

Re: Another ARP main stud question

??? I'm pretty sure its impossible to install non CB main studs in a CB. Non CB studs are all the same size vs the 4 end studs being shorter on CB's

quote from fwd's page "Main stud put together specifically for the 89-up common block including the t-3 block. The 6 inner studs are longer than the 4 outer studs to accomadate the common block configuration."

So if you have 4 studs that are shorter than the others you should be fine...

If they work and the oil pan and retainers fit, why mess around?

Re: Another ARP main stud question

adam. ive had 3 built motors, all with the same thing going on!!! every single one is a common block, and they all used the NCB main studs....

I havent run into any issues. but i was really thinking of getting the proper studs for the t3 setup. but thats another 80 bucks i cant really afford. if they thread in a depth of at least 1.5x the diameter of the stud, then there shouldnt be a problem as long as u can get the nut on all the way.

Re: Another ARP main stud question

Here you go. You can buy all of these individually from ARP. So you and Juggy would really only need the 6 studs since you have the washers and nuts.

    4) ATP 3.350-1LB (11x1.5x7/16-20 stud 1&5 main caps)
    6) ATP 3.750-1LB ( 11x1.5x7/16-20 stud 2,3,4, main caps)
    10) APN 1116 (7/16-20 hex main nut)
    10) APW 1316N (7/16 washer)

    Todd, that's great info!

When Adam's engine was assembled many years ago the only ARP stud kit out there was the NCB set.

They've always had the hardware, but for whatever reason they refuse to list it as a kit in their catalog even after being told repeatedly. You tell them and you can practically hear it hit the round file while still talking to them. Talk to Kammy (head of sales staff) @ ARP if you need help with something not in catalog.

Yes, like I said, there are no apparent issues. Still, if the option exists, I'd like to look into it.

Exactly. I could easily order the kit, but that's a lot of money when I really only need the six studs.

Now that's exactly what I was looking for. Huge thanks!
