Any idea if these would work for a 2.5L TIII build? Or are they only for use with the Neon DOHC head?
yes they will work. if u check out the venolias on the FWDP site (i know diff vendor and pistons but.....) they list that the hybrid pistons can also be used in TIII applicationsOriginally Posted by iTurbo
Yeah I saw that too so I figured they might work. When I built my last 2.5L TIII (which is still on the stand btw), I got a set of forged Venolias from gasketmaster and I recall him stating they would work for either as well. They were probably the same as what FWDP had. I got those for $350 for the set, including rings though!
Right now my fourth TIII block is at the machine shop....they are taking FOREVER to get to it as usual. I was going to have them give it a hone and reuse the standard size OEM pistons....but now I am thinking of going with another 2.5L, although I would also need a 2.5L crank that's in good shape as well. I really need to check with the machine shop again though. For all I know they just happened to get it done, but I doubt it.
hi, i know this thread is old but, that pistons use a special size of ring or can i use a set of mahle or hastings?
