Anyone put cone filter into fender area, 87 T1 Shelby Charger?

I am trying to use a cone filter on my intake - which is a standard T1 log manifold car. I can easily use a cone filter in the engine bay, but is it possible to remove the current air intake, which seems to go somewhere inside the fender, and put the cone in there?

Basically, will it fit? If so, what size cone filter? Looking for any experience in this area before I tear it apart and find out its not going to work...

    Thanks!

Stock, the air passes thru the Power Module so sort of difficult to put a cone outside the engine compartment thru the fender. With a log motor and no intercooler tho, there are ways to get an air hose out in front of the core support.

Ah. I can connect a pipe to the power module, but I am not sure what is on the other side of the power module in the fender. And if I did put a filter there, sounds like it might be a major production to clean the filter?

The PM does not go thru the fender, it goes thru the front core support

Ok, I will have to look at it closer - my car is at the exhaust shop so I cannot get to it at the moment. The way you describe, sounds like the only way is to jam a cone somehow in front of the front core support... I will inspect that area. Thanks!
