    Re: speed sensor

Your factory speed sensor should work fine as long as the wires are in good shape. Their location makes them really prone to damage from oil, heat, salt, and just about everything else that wiring shouldn't be subjected to.

why? just swap over the speed sensor out of the old trans, it wil fit no problem and keep everything the way it is supposed to be.

All of the speed sensors have an electric output, whether or not the car has a cable driven speedometer.

All sds sensors have a 2 or 3 wire plug. Its whether or not is has a cable or not.

Charger guy, just run the stock cable. Its easy and it will work fine.

It's supposed to. Your wires must have been broken off.

The one that is cable driven only must be off of a carb car. All EFI cars used the electronic signal from the SDS even if the speedometer was still cable driven.
