Nor do I! lol Not that I wouldn't like the peace of mind of knowing my turbo is protected against F.O's in the oil from trashed bearings ect. But I was told a long time ago, that with a journal bearing turbo especially, you have to be Very carefull what you place in the oil feed line.

A good friend of mine has seen more turbos fail because of in-line filters starving them for oil than ones saved by said filters! Maybe that's why the TU filter is only 65 micron?

Well, I got that fitting in, works great. Had to get an o-ring from a faucet repair kit (my shop is in the middle of no-mans land in terms of stores) but seemed to work great. I'll likely get a filter for that line too as the stock TU kit line is at its max with this Holset in terms of length. May make that other line up down the road.

An HX35W is an internally wastegated turbo, and is what I am running, except it's an '01, the HX35 is not wastegated. The Knowledge Center had some good info on Holsets, but the last time I checked, it was gone.

Re: holset 351 oil feed fitting

I had a problem with my feed line and it ended up that the O ring washer was not "puffy" enough to seal against the deep recess on the he341 oil inlet flange. Stuck an extra O ring on there to fit into the recess and it worked. Drove a long time leaking and ignoring. I previously was blaming the fancy Earl's swivel 90 fitting.

Hmmm, I just tapped the holset fitting and put the stock fitting inside it. Anyone else do this? Or am I missing some fatal flaw in doing this?

The fix later was a crush washer under the earls swivel, but the swivel has failed internally now. I have to research what I put on my kids project 3.0 Holset Spirit. Its got a Motion Raceworks return line setup and then a nicer Fragola feedline. My cars have Silicone hose returns and barbs :| They leak even with European smooth style worm gears.

    Kids car has:

Fragola 412-1-2-36-BL which is a 36" long PTFE lined -4an with a 90 on one end. Black braided stainless.
Fragola 460405-BL which is a -4 AN to M12 x 1.5 aluminum adapter. I use a cheap copper crush washer at the metric surface. These are available at Harbor Freight.

I am tempted to upgrade my Spirit to run this since my swivel is leaking. Prices have gone up about 45% on these items since 2019.
