what did you use to paint the interior panels?
what did you use to paint the interior panels?
The panels themselves I did not have to paint, they were in great shape.
I used colorbond Chrysler m mist gray paint( bought at Summit racing) to paint the hard plastic pieces and door handles.http://bryndana.com/

Worked on putting the interior back together, while I wait for engine parts. Made some progress last couple days.

Got back to working on the project. had hoped to have the engine in by now but, getting closer. Just about ready to drop the engine and trans in car today.
Greg
Been awhile, really struggling to get this this car done. Spend alot of time effort recently on the SL which burnt me out I think. Getting closer now, hoping to fire it up sometime this week. Engine and trans in, exhaust run, K frame back in, rebuilt(tie rods, ball joints, bushings, brake rotors/pads, brake lines).
Next car I get will be a completed project I think, If I learned anything yet.

Wow, that's coming along really well. Nice work, and thanks for sharing.
Got it to run for a hot second tonight. At first no fuel pump activation with key on. Direct power to pump works fine. Ground the test/connection to activate the asd relay(fuel pump, injectors, coil) All are fine but no fuel pump noise, wiggle connection at pump it comes on, great tighten up the plug. yada yada yada now none work.
#10 fuse looked good, but replaced, fuelsable links look good.
Can here power module click, asd relay good, power to +coil and at pump.
More trouble shooting to come.
Thanks for your interest.

Looks nice. I'm partial to the hemi orange and black wrinkle look too.
Plug at fuel pump was issue. Got it started and running today. Have to clean up engine bay and run IC pipes/ filter. Waiting on retaining clips for trans cable, hopefully be driving it this week. Tons of small stuff to do.
Greg
Tried to use a set of neon srt-4 shifter cables, for my 523 conversion. One cable fits perfect( cross over) the other is to long. Picked up one for a shadow today to finish it.

Had trans trouble,
Couple of problems, main one ended up being wrong axle on drivers side. Bought to new ones, thought I had and 90 omni auto axle, must of been a five speed trans axle, small shaft.
Had an intermediate shaft from an 87 shadow es, was too long, and unable to get rt side axle in far enough to get strut on.
This car is going to get me yet.
Car is throwing codes 13 and 14 (map) problems can't get it figured out yet. Starts idles fine, will not rev past 2k or so, goes into limp mode(because of codes) tested every thing possible(at least I thing) and still problem.
Power to map 4.96v
signal 1.6v
Ground direct to battery
(all wires check good for resistance/continuity)
Dedicated new vac line to bar/map from vac block
bypassed boro solenoid
vacuum 16" to baro and between baro and map
have changed maps and baro
LM
checked fuel vac, no gas in it
More to come, the GLH is beating me down
Greg
If you're getting a code 13 that's usually a vac problem. The code 14 is the map giving off a signal out of range indicating a wiring problem usually. That's a rough combo you have going there.
You could take the omni axle center piece and use it with the shadow ends if you can't return them.
Thanks, Cordes I got the transaxle sitiation figured out.
I did my electronic conversion, over to an 87 daytona, lancer LM from Dylan's site http://fwdmopar.50megs.com/javaindex.html. Tried to use my fwdp stage IV 3 bar, code 13,14. put a two bar map in, turn fp down use a stock 87 LM same code 13,14.
Just by chance, I though what if I put the stock 85 LM back in, turn fp down, run a long vac line from baro to LM's map. Guess what, starts, runs and revs like hell.
I have been over the conversion several times, and I can not figure it out. Time to look for a 3 bar 86-87 Glhs LM.
Greg
I'm guessing that you're doing something wrong with the map wiring. Did you try to splice the ground for the map into the ground for the sensors? That's what most folks do. I prefer this post by Clay regarding the conversion. I think it's a little easier to follow.

Yes, I thought about doing that, still might try it yet.
Thanks, Greg
For some reason the scan tool is seeing 5 volts with the other computer, an new wiring for map. With the 85 computer /map sensor seeing 2.2 volt
Greg
No luck moving the ground to #25.
This does not make sence.
87 csx LM, 3bar map, new wiring. OTC scanner states 5v when I check map sensor.
I physicaly checked map with meter and get 4.94v on C, 1.47v on B, no v on a ground
have checked and check wiring all is correct. Throw codes 13, 14 because it thinks it is getting 5v at LM
I plug back in the 85 LM and scanner reads 2.2v on C (signal wire) car runs and does not show odes 13 or 14.
