Who to have rebuild my 555 transmission

I'm going to be pulling my motor/trans in the next couple of weeks and am wondering who I should get to rebuild my transmission. I don't really want to have anyone local do the rebuild since there's only 2 around here and 1 of them said it would be $1700 for a rebuild and the other shop is extremely dirty with parts laying all over the place.

Nothing wrong with it that is huge, but it does leak a bit of oil from the axle seals and I figured it would be a good time to get it rebuilt since it has over 102,xxx miles on it, but I'm going to be pulling the motor, transmission, axles, and k frame shortly to get my engine bay shaved and painted after my wire/vacuum hose tuck. I had planned on getting the k frame, motor mounts, and control arms powdercoated as well as repainting the motor, painting the trans, and putting on a TU60 turbo all at once.

Hmmm, sounds like I wouldn't be willing to let that one out of my sight, and just do the axle seals. Send a "core" grade one to get built.

520/555s are super easy to do. I would just check the slop in the shafts and the diff to see if they are within specs. If they are then I wouldn't do anything except for the shift fork pads if it needs them. That's not a ton of miles for one of our transmissions if it has been treated well.
