    p-body springs

I plan on purchasing some new coil springs for my Daytona soon. Is there a difference in G-body springs versus those for P-bodys? I would like the car to sit a little lower and was wondering if p-body springs would help any. Or even ones from a Spirit. I have a local retailer who sell moog coil springs. Will probably have both in stock but I can just say I need them for a '90 Shadow instead if a Daytona. Am I correct that they will interchange?

    Thanks for any help

I have interchanged them with no noticable difference in ride height between P and G bodies.

I noticed on rock-auto the g-body and p-body springs all have the same part number. Wish I would have saw that before making the thread. However the Spirt coil springs have different part numbers. So that may be a better option than the g-body springs. Price is slightly cheaper as well. What body designation are the Spirits?

A spirit is and A body, or AA in some years. I doubt you'll find much difference at all. If anything, I would suspect the spirit springs to have a higher ride due to the higher weight of those cars.

Another think to keep in mind, most new springs have zero "sag" and will sit higher than you expect.

Talk to the retailer and find out the "free height" and "spring rate" in lb/in. You probably want to go with the shortest free height and highest spring rate... can always cut them if too tall.

I found some raybestos on rock auto that give the specs. The free height is 17.27". Its shorter than others listed. However this is for a 1986 Turbo Z not a '90 ES. Will those springs work on my '90. I already have struts and they are for my car. Will '86 springs work interchange with '90 struts for my car? If this won't work I'll just purchase the ones for my year and hope it sits no higher than factory.

    thanks
