    P body ES cladding

How does the 87-89 style Shadow ES cladding attach to the body of the car ? I have never seen an earlier car in person to really get a good look at it. Is it attached with double sided tape or a bucketload of screws and drilling holes ? I've only ever seen the later 90+ style and I will never bring myself to drilling holes in a clean rust free car to attach all the brackets holding it on. Thanks

hate to burst your bubble but they all attach the same way. double sided tape will never hold that piece on, so if you want it get out the drill, measure twice.....

I thought there were pins spot welded or brazed in that clips attach to. Then the moldings attach to that. Screwing threw on the sides is not recommended. the 87-89 style I thought was plastic and not urethane like the later ones. I've got a set from a 90 if you like that style better.

my car has plastic rivets all the way down each side skirt underneath, the top of the skirt is held on with double sided tape. the front pieces of the skirt have a bracket attached to the fender behind the front wheel that the front section clips onto with more rivets from the wheel well.

your going to have to rivet on the plastic clips, previous posters talking about metal tabs or studs are correct. the centre part screws into the body with self taping screws in the door jam.

Sounds like I wont be looking into this any further. My car is way to clean to even think about drilling holes into it.
