We have a new VW drag car making 830whp 570ft/lbs and our new dogbox ring pinion, 2 step and 28" slicks is not going to good, best so far is 9.1 164mph but this manual tranny is not up to par, we just broke again this weekend at E town (drove up from Canada)
I did awhile back a built a404 case built a413 internals built by dean Stillie but case was weak and after multiple breakage and other kid on the way i let that go.
now in our new race team i have a dodge Tranny builder with 10 years experience so he can build it, i have search for best option to install proper parts but on here seems like all the best info might be found.
Should i start with older 2.2 turbo tranny and later caravan drums, 300m shaft cheetah VB, heard a transbrake is done now, etc
or start with 99 up neon NA tranny.
will the lock up tranny be better vs older non lock up.
We need to make adapter plate so don't matter will make it fit.
Im a VW guy and all terms use im too familiar so please explain.
i want to build the best i can so any shaft upgrade, planetary upgrade, heat treament i can handle the cost to a certain point.
wil be running the peloquin LSD
Fastest VW FWD is 8.72 we did 9.1 with manual i want to beat that time, will put turbo-mopar stciker on car when up and running for the help. . lol
