Has anyone run an N/A 8v with all the MPG mike treatments?

I Need links from anyone who has gone though this on their TBI or MPFI 8v, if it has been done at all. I know this has been done on a couple turbo cars with great results.
Also need suggestions on any reputable head porters here who have applied the MPG mike treatments with good results.
    Why?
$4-5 a gallon on the horizon and a heavy Daytona which is owed a rebuild say so.

I unfortunately have not, BUT i have talked to a handful of people who have gotten 40+mpg out of tuned 2.2/2.5 motors, so i think your mpg quest can get great results if you're really motivated.

Some of the easy answers are to mill the head for more compression, and run about 14-15 degrees of initial timing. The 195 or hotter T-stat is helpful also. In my TM adventures, I once ran a Jacobs Omni-Pac ignition on a 2.2 T1 car, I had the plugs gapped at 0.50, but it didn't show any mileage improvements. I took it off later, and forgot to shorten the plug gaps, it cut out badly under boost. This showed me it was getting a more powerful spark, but to no avail power/mileage wise. It had a 782 head on it.

Really? We've been waiting for years to see results from MPG's Power Lynes on a turbo 2.2L/2,5L mopar. Got a link?

Tuned? Mayeb that would help more! LOL! A stock long block, stock turbo 87 T2 Shadow with 3" exhaust, MP Stage II LM... and delicate right foot can get deep into the 30's if not 40 highway.

I use the term 'tuned' loosely. All the more reason someone whos really trying SHOULD be able to hit 40 mpg.

The wider plug gap just effectively advances the timing.

the turbo is the restriction. it doesnt really matter what you go for exhaust behind it.....

Thankd for the links and good info I had seen a few of those pics before. Do you have any links to any results from Power Lynes on a turbo 2.2L/2.5L mopar? Like a back to back test, no lynes vs. with lynes on the same head and same level of port work?

Dez went from 156 stock to 430 HP with ported top end and other work, and went from 23/27 to 35/43 mpg, and it is a 3-speed AT. There is a guy in Indiana you wouldn't know but he has an '87 TBI Sundance that went from 24/29 to 35/44 with my ported head. If you want to chat, send me an email & I'll send you my phone number.

What other work was done? That'a pretty huge jump in HP to be sure. Did you do anything to the trans to keep the RPMs down? 43mpgs would be pretty crazy in most of our cars with the 3 speed.

Mike, thanks for the reply. My question is not about a stock vs. prepped head, we all know that there is a ton of benefit to be had there. My question is specifically about the lynes. Do you have any results from Power Lynes on a turbo 2.2L/2.5L mopar? Like a true back to back test, no lynes vs. with lynes on the same head and same level of port work?

Hum, the voltage takes a tad longer to build to jump a wider gap, should be a fractional retard... but spark lasts longer, shorter gap will be sooner, hotter and shorter.

Pet peeve, those have become a mythical beast.... all the parts stores I've been in, promise you a 195, but actually have a "multi range" one that's stamped 192 and probably opens around 190... 205s are mostly in the assemble it yourself category, since there's only a couple of official 205 applications, (Plus you look at them and they're stamped 202....)... well I say "all" what I mean is all the ones with thermostats out on racks that you can look at, if you have to ask at the counter they pretty much won't sell you something "wrong".
