First Kill! Lebaron vs. Nissan SE-R

My buddy is good guy who bought a Nissan SE-R all modded out from his brother. I know the car well and we would always do a couple fun runs every now and then with my Shelby Daytona and I would always WHOMP on him going from a low second gear roll where he makes power and by third I am streaming by him. His car is no slug however. I picked up my car from Jackson a couple weeks ago. I will give a rundown of both cars mods real quick.
    92 Lebaron Convertible
    2.5t1/a568
    R/T radiator intercooler set up
Jackson short shifter with Booger bushings
Boost controller set to 12 psi
    full 3 inch exhaust
stock mitsu turbo and really crappy street tires
11'' brake kit from an r/t
Eibach front springs and shelby rear springs lowered an inch
    Weighs 3,100 lbs driverless
    1992 Nissan SE-R
    JDM sr-20/ 5 speed
    Header, custom exhaust
    Cold air intake
    Wieghted shifter
Coil overs all the way around
16'' rims with good low pro street tires
    Upgraded clutch
    weight aprox. 2,400 lbs. driverless
So I get my car and he figures he can finally give me a run for my money in my heavier less powerful Lebaron. Go from a 20 roll where he makes his power because I always give him the benefit of the doubt, and we take off and he gets a good carlength on me because I am low on 2nd gear and have to spool. I spool and start realing him in at the top of second and by third gear do the same thing the shelby does and stream by him. Man he was pissed!!! LOL. Its one thing to get beaten by a sport shelby t-top Daytona with a nice fat 60 trim on it but to get beat by the Lebaron is well... we all know how that goes. He has a t-25 and all the parts to go turbo on his SE-R so I will need to make some modifications before that happens. But overall a good first kill for the Lebaron!
Here is his SE-R next to the shelby and next to my buddies ridiculously fast turbo miata

I wouldn't call headers and a CAI "all modded out", maybe added 20 hp altogether. JDM engine usually just means low mileage Good kill still though, since you have a lot heavier car. That 2.5 torque kick can be a life saver Plus the quick-spooling Mitsu

CAI and Headers add 20hp? I bet to differ, maybe something less

Naw its got some light port work and nothing but the best with the intake, header exhaust. Last time dynoed he made 20 hp+. JDM motor is a tad higher compression according to him. car is definitely not slug, just not upto turbo lebaron standards LOL

The higher a motor revs the more it generally gets from intake and exhaust on an n/a. Really on anything, but the gains turbo cars get are apples to oranges.

LOL yes it is. This car gets lots of looks with the 3 inch straight and its not till I shoot off the blow off valve that people get it. And even then some people still don't LMAO!
His car has a nice 7k rev range so he does have the revs for me just not the torque through the rev range. The LSD is nice thats forsure. Wish our cars came stock with it. Instead we spend a lot of money on the trans to get the LSD.

Re: First Kill! Lebaron vs. Nissan SE-R

We can add it to out transmissions (OBX) much cheaper than most imports spend on bling and stuff that doesn't make them go quicker (or even slower!) I've got my second one set up for my Rampage for $385 including the hardened washers and good bolts.

Good job with the LeBaron whacking the Sentra!
