2.4 Turbo Cast Exhaust Manifold Options ect....

I'm starting to slowly piece together a parts for a couple 2.4 swaps and I'm looking at exhaust manifolds. It looks like the options are:

    AGP
    ATP
    Treadstone
    Godspeed

Which one fit the best in a "L" body? Any pro's or cons to any of these? I'm looking for reliability and I don't want the thing to crack over time. I'm sure I'm missing a few other manifolds but that's all I could find.
Has anyone tried the new AEM EMS4 yet? Price is within reach and I like that it is waterproof! Oh yeah and that I don't solder it together myself!

pretty sure the treadstone has a lifetime warranty against cracking. Thinking about the 420a cast header or the log style from treadstone?

I have the OBX header in the Z and had to rotate the motor forwards so it didnt hit the firewall. I went 2" to give it extra clearance, but the T04B cover was touching before I moved it.

Ya, my guess is that pretty much any cast header will require some firewall work or strategic engine placement to get a decent sized turbo to fit. I had to angle my turbo just right to get it to fit where I wanted and any of the cast manifolds wouldn't have done the trick.

Puppet posted pics of his L body with a Holset, not sure what he did but I don't think he did any firewall mods. Can't find the thread,

The log SRT-4 one. I'm not looking to put a huge turbo on the first build I plan on doing. Power goal of 300 or less. The 420a one looks pretty b.a. they won't bolt up will they?

Looks like I'll just order up any of them and make if fit.

Re: 2.4 Turbo Cast Exhaust Manifold Options ect....

The ATP manifold has a one year warranty. I feel like this one would probably fit best because it holds the turbo up and away from the firewall. At $325 it's pretty affordable.

The ATP turbo manifold looks pretty nice as well, but certainly will put the turbo closer to the firewall. Has a lifetime warranty and only costs $395.

The Treadstone looks very similar to the AGP manifold. Looks like it would keep the turbo away from the firewall. It is stainless steel, has a lifetime warranty, and is only $330.

Godspeed looks like the Treadstone and AGP manifold. Cast manifold with lifetime warranty. $300.

OBX turbo header looks like it would fit pretty well other than the wastegate flange. Could probably modify (or block off depending on your plans) to give you more firewall clearance. It's stainless steel, comes with a lifetime warranty, and is only $230

This is a no name header that can be found on ebay. I am skeptical of being able to fit a turbo under the header in an L-body, so I probably wouldn't attempt this one. It's only $150 but it looks pretty cheap.

DNP turbo header. Another design that puts the turbo below the header which would likely be difficult. It sure looks smooth, but it's $600.

I'm sure there are probably a lot more options out there, I guess it just depends on if you want a manifold or a header, how much you wanna pay, and how much fabrication you want to do.

I personally like the Treadstone because it puts the turbo on top of the manifold, Which should theoretically give it more firewall clearace. I am curious about hood clearance tho, as I would like to run my charge pipe similar to Carroll did on his TIII Omni.
If not, I will run it under the engine like the SRT-4's.

That EMS4 is pretty cool. Looks like a factory pcm. The price is still pretty high though, and if you are putting it in an L-body you would need all of the srt4 wiring and computer to work with it. It goes inline of the factory pcm if you want it to operate the cluster and charging.

Thanks for all the input and taking to time to post up the pictures! I'm leaning towards the treadstone one. I like the lifetime warranty and that the flanges are on the top. As for the EMS4 I'm still shopping around for the most reliable tunable for the $$$. I'm not worried about operating a stock cluster or charging system so that ms it easier.

It's pretty and all, but I could see some serious fitment issues trying to put that on the back side of 2.4. I think that is more intended for a 420A DSM.

It says on the webpage you can fit a GT3582R. Need bigger?

So put it on the front and run a 420A head.

That would be fine on an all out race car... but a PITA if you needed to run any type of exhaust system.

The mexican 2.4 manifold with a HY35 fits in an L body with a little less than an inch to the fire wall.

Just run it under the engine like a DSM does. Or since that manifold is probably going in an all out race car then just run it out the side

Any idea how that manifold works with a T3/T04E in an Lbody?
