    Which after market fuel filter?

I wish to run an after-market fuel filter with a washable steel element. Which of these would you use in place of the stock paper pos

These great looking fuel filters were designed for today's high-volume fuel systems. They're specifically made for carbureted or injected engines making up to 1,000 HP. The Russell Competition fuel filters are offered in -6 and -8 male outlets, which help them flow up to 130 gph. Russell incorporated a disc-type element, which filters down to 40 microns and can be cleaned or replaced.
    Overall Length (in) 3.000 in.
    Outside Diameter (in) 1.250 in.
    $24.95

Would this one give me problems? Seems small, get clogged quick?

These filters flow 150 gph and can handle up to 1,000 hp. These lightweight 6061 aluminum filters feature a 100 micron stainless pleated element.

    Outside Diameter (in) 1.750 in.
    $69.95

Bigger in size, price and particle size filtered. Is 100 micron sized debris big enough to clog injectors/etc? Should i use this one and use the first filter afterwards to bring it down to 40 micron?

If you have any other ideas that are better than what i've found, please speak up so we can all share the goodness.

I was thinking stock disposables were in the ~30 micron range. What are you looking for, better protection or better flow?

Bottom one, 100 microns is too big, 40 is about right for fuel or if you can go a tad smaller. Check the filters pressure rating, you need at least 125 psi.

I use a System 1, had it on for 4 years, no issues, clean it once a year-

Re: Which after market fuel filter?

do not buy a tiny filter. i had clogged mine up in NO time at all. unless it was a drag only car, i would suggest getting something larger like simon mentioned

100 micron is a pre pump filter, or can also be used in carb applications

they vary in micron between companies, but ive seen 10, 30, 35 and 40 micron......
i will be using dual 100 micron SS pre filter pumps in my setup, along with 1 10 micron paper filter after the adaptor joins them to 1 run 1 single line

id suggest aeromotive or system 1
